ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Independently sets up and operates protoTRAK mills, lathes, saws, bending and pulltrusion operations. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of machine tool technology. Works with a wide variety of materials, selecting speeds, feeds, and tooling to efficiently machine any part assigned to this position. Performs complete machining, deburring and cosmetic finishing of machined parts in a safe and efficient manner. Performs layout and precision inspection utilizing knowledge of ANSI Y14.5M Documents methods and procedures for efficient setups on repeat jobs. Utilizes the computer terminal to maintain accurate record keeping. Participates in the safety program and contributes to a safe clean work environment. Assists less skilled shop personnel with determining best methods to achieve desired results in a safe and timely manner. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Ability to read and comprehend shop travelers, written instructions and shop prints at the appropriate level. Ability to follow verbal directions. Ability to recognize and calculate figures and amounts such as fractional size, decimal equivalent, and diameter. Ability to perform math problems including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry and trigonometry. Ability to perform the required manual dexterity. Ability to perform required visual inspection of parts. Ability to perform computer data input to track attendance and time spent on work orders. Ability to utilize precision measuring devices to inspect dimensions accurately within± .0005 and angles± .5°

Required experience:

CNC Machining: 3 years Bridgeport/Prototrak: 3 years
