Wow...just wow!!!
I use to work for Kroger for quite a few years, but this man was definitely there much longer than I! He worked at Kroger for 63 years and raised five kids on the money he made. He said it was a great place to work and I definitely agree. It helped me stay afloat while I was in college. Many of my girlfriends didn't work, but I had to. My parents couldn't pay for me to live so I worked! This man definitely deserves a round of applause. I am not sure ANYONE stays at a job this long anymore. https://vimeo.com/207144970

They hire a lot!
I have been working at Dollar Tree for nearly a year. I shopped here long before I applied. I like my store a lot. It's clean and management works with your schedule if you run into problems as long as you are honest, hardworking, and reliable. We always seem to be hiring new people. The hours are flexible so that's probably why. If you want to work at Dollar Tree you can download the application https://www.dollartree.com/custserv/custserv.jsp?pageName=StoreCareers&parentName=Careers and then drop it off with a manager at whatever store you want. That's all I did.

My favorite thing about UPS
For me, my favorite part of working for UPS is that we give back to the people and communities we serve. UPS this past year helped send 263 relief shipments across 43 countries during hard times. A bunch of us even planted some trees on Earth Day last year. I just like the fact that they care. It says a lot and makes me proud to work for them.

The old ladies were mad at me
I liked my job while I was at Family Dollar, but occasionally customers would get confused when something wasn't a dollar. I made sure everything in our store was tagged or had a sign because as a shopper I HATE not knowing how much something is!! Certain items are not a dollar and the old ladies would get so mad at me sometimes. I can't help but laugh a little now. It's not like I determined the prices, but they just got SO worked up! I calmed them down and many times tried to locate a less pricier item for them. I would show them the original price tag of the item and they would turn to me and say "but that's not a dollar!" Bingo ;)

I am like a magic elf!
I work hard all through the night at Target while you sleep to put your favorite products on the shelves. Unlike an elf I don't have magical powers so I usually have to climb and descend ladders pretty often and lift heavy things that we stage to be put up on the shelves. My work schedule is consistent but also flexible when I need it to be. I make $12 an hour here. My wife likes that we get a discount too. Good job for the last 5 months for sure!

I sorted donations
Goodwill is such a fun and interesting place to work. You meet people from ALL walks of life. My job was to sort through the donations which was exciting and other times pretty chaotic. We took that chaos and organized it, however! You never knew what was going to show up next. I saw a ton of things and I always wondered who they belonged to. Sort of like going to an antique shop. As they say, one man/woman's trash is another man/woman's treasure. Always make the BEST of every situation!

What it was like for me
I worked at CVS while I was going to school to get my CNA degree. I worked in the pharmacy and rang customers out. My management was great and the staff friendly. CVS has good pay that is somewhat competitive I think. They are also one of the few companies that always seem to hire FT and give out benefits, which is a major plus. I recommend them to other students I meet so they can help pay their way through school like I did.

The best reason to work here!
The best reason to work at Walmart is helping the customers! I really enjoy seeing the regulars come into the store and greeting them with a smile. I used to be a little shy before this job so it's helped me open up a lot. Sometimes we are understaffed so I work extra hours for the store when they need me. I am hoping they move me up to management soon. I like working at Walmart. Lots of my family and friends shop at my store.

Why I have worked for UPS for 5 years
UPS has been a great experience for me. I have worked here for 5 (almost 6) years now. I started in the crazy time of loading semi's and putting up 1,000 + packages a night. I stuck it out and slowly worked my way up to management.
The benefits are awesome! Better than most full-time jobs even at part-time. I started at $8.50 and now I'm at $15. I expect to get another raise in the next 6 months. But be prepared to work hard while you are there. Once you get into your rhythm, the shift can go by pretty quickly. I really think your job is what you put into it.

20 Things you should know
I worked for Dunkin for awhile in the drive-through before moving up to management. I love my job and the people I work with. It's a great company, but I wanted to share something funny and TRUTHFUL that I found. These are the 20 things that drive the employees CRAZY that they want you to know. I hear all about them daily, haha. My favorite....Flavored cream isn’t a thing. We don’t have ten different flavored creams that we pour into your coffee. It’s a flavor shot, and we put it in before adding the coffee. Also, we don’t have ten different pots of different flavors. We would waste so much coffee that way!! ;>) Just remember these tips the next time you visit us. https://www.theodysseyonline.com/20-things-dunkin-donuts-employees-want-know
