I'm talking to YOU

Yes, you. I know how you're feeling right now, because it's the same way I've felt. Lost, frustrated, maybe even a little desperate. But no matter what negative emotions are threatening to swallow you up, KEEP PUSHING FORWARD. God will take you to where you need to go. Just meet him halfway and put in that hard work. Never give up, because I'm not giving up on you!

Unemployed

Marquisha Cork you don't know me, but Just keep trying other places. Target, Burlington Coat Retail, you have the skills to apply at any retail job. Do some research and spruce up your resume'. There are alot of free websites you can get ideas from to do that. Don't worry about the small stuff. Walmart is not the only place who is hiring. So you've have a rock you have to kick around, don't roll it and kick it to where it becomes a boulder and much harder to move forward. It's unfair Walmart decided to throw you a curve ball by hiring you and then letting you go, put that catchers mitt up and catch that ball...STRIKEM' OUT! There are gov't and state agencies you can seek out to help you stay afloat until you land that job. Go to (tx.gov) or (texas.gov) and get registered for information to be sent to your email about possible positions of employment with the gov't. Register/Call your local Health and Human Services Agency to have a Job Training Specialist - Case Manager appointment set up. Have you applied for Unemployment Benefits with your state? You have a child your Health and Human Services Agency can get you registered for benefits so you are able to put groceries on the table. Keep a look out from your local community Outreach Programs to sign up for and it's free giving to those in need. These are programs to help you through this time as you are seeking employment. All is confidential they can also help if you need Free legal help and point you in the right direction. All is not lost because Walmart doesn't want to give you a chance. Keep your chin up and stay focused on what's important, it ain't Walmart. I wouldn't waste my precious time calling the corporate office and begging for a job or even asking for a reason Why they reniged on a promise of the hiring. I call it "AWOFTAM" ...A Waste Of Time & F'n Money!

In the wee hours of the morning!

The weather is starting to get colder especially in the wee hours of the morning. I am starting to wake up really early now that I have a new job. But in spite of the new job, it give me time to think on a lot of things. When I was out searching for employment I would wake up early and just talk to God. I would ask him Why me? Why put a single mom threw so much. I wanted to just crawl back into bed because nothing could be worse than to not have a job especially when your 14 year old need shoes or need his hair cut. I couldn't go call my parents because they are not the people you can call and just say, "I need you all to help me? "I need a warm hug or just for someone to say they love me". I had to love myself and hug myself. In those early wee mornings when you can hear sound of the cracks from the walls that's when you draw close to God. Everyday I went out searching for work just to have doors shut on my face. Employers would call me or email me after they received my application and tell me that they had already hired someone. I felt so rejected and beaten down that I start believing that I would never find anything. Honestly, I wanted to go home and just curl up in my old bedroom the nice bed that I grew up in. We sometimes forget that the person that we never give credit for or even give support for is ourselves. This year I have been through so much if I make through the new year I will have made it . In the wee hours is when I think of my ex-fiancé and how I prayed that God would send someone for me and my son . I danced in that white wedding gown just to have to return it . I wonder what he is doing sometimes. I hope that he treats my sister better than he treated me. In the wee hours of the morning you will find me down on my knees praying to God. Praying that he gives me strength and that he keeps food on the table and the wolves at bay. Its amazing what happens during the wee hours of the morning. I have learned so much about myself during that time. I just ask for grace and more miracles.

Keep positive

Get your poop in a group people. I see a lot of whining and blaming others for their problems here. Own it. Get over it, and focus on what needs to happen... work on you. Your problem isn't others- it's yours. Ditch the egos, it's the ultimate source of negativity that will prevent you from succeeding.

What is success? Knowing your purpose and fulfilling it.

It has nothing to do with jobs or money. Those will happen as a side effect of knowing and fulfilling your purpose. It comes for free.

We live in a value for value exchange world. Make yourself a value. Nobody owes you anything. You are not entitled to a job, you have to be a value to receive a value. Nobody cares about your unemployment situation more than you, nor should they.

I apply. I don't look back with expectations, I'm too busy applying for the next one I searched for that feels right. I don't care if they don't respond... I'm looking ahead, not behind.

Every negative thing you say here is only proving why you are unemployed and not getting work. You'll be searched online. Put your best foot forward and keep there. Life change time. Show people that you won't fall to the dark side. They want to hire team players that can withstand the challenges even in the worst situations. This is where true character is made and recognized by others. Is this what you want to be known for?

Don't make emotional decisions or speak from emotions. Be rational. Don't be led by fear and make fear base decisions (emotional). Be proactive, not reactive. Don't be fake nice here. Be nice because it's right. Put genuine good out there, and genuine good will come back. But don't look back expecting it like an entitled little shi+. Help others more and worry less about yourself. Be more selfless and less selfish.

Doesn't matter why you are in the situation you are in, what matters is that you work your way out of it. It is active work, you don't get to sit around waiting and reminiscing about the life you had. Jobs won't find you, they are not looking for you. But they will avoid the egotistical complainer type.

Make yourself available for opportunity to find you! Be well presented so it can!

Be proactive. Be humble. Have gratitude. Appreciate what you have now and forget about what you don't have any more. In the end, you won't get out alive or with a thing. Make the most of every moment. Leave goodness in your wake and people will want you back.

This isn't a place to vent your frustrations. This isn't face book. This is the professional working world. Yes, you're being judged with every action you make known. If you want to vent, talk to the tree in your back yard, and be willing to listen to what it says.

Know thy self. Know your purpose and fulfill it.

What is your strongest value to others? Find a job doing that. Or, what do you want to do? Learn to do it. Either way, you'll be great.

Best wishes,

James
