I'm thinking this is a scam. Let me know what you think. Read below email sent to me.....

Hello Again,   Thanks for your reply. There will be no problem working with us. My family and I would be moving into town on the 23rd of January, but the dogs will be arriving earlier by the 20th. However, for the first few weeks, what we require from you is light housekeeping & preparation for our arrival. So when will it be convenient for you to start?   My husband will instruct his financial clerk to make out a check to you before our arrival. You’ll receive a Cashier's check from which you will deduct your upfront payment for the first week and the remaining funds will be used to buy the Dog foods, shampoo and other things needed for the dogs and house equipment. We’re willing to pay $300 weekly.   The real estate agent will be instructed to release the keys of our apartment and address to you via mail or pick up, whichever one is convenient for you. This will enable you to do all the necessary preparation before the arrival of our Dogs. We need you to help us get the shopping and preparation done before they arrive so that you wont have to start running around when they arrive. We’ll reimburse your cost of transportation.   Please forward the following information to me to send to the financial Clerk   Full Name: Full address with zip code & Apt Number: Phone number:   All I need from you is total honesty and sincerity. I know you will be committed to the works that are required from you. You will also have a nice time working with us.   Regards,  Christine Tillema

Taking advantage of job seekers.

I saw a job for a car sales person at a dealership near me on one of the major job search sites. I applied and sent my resume. I got a email saying to come in for an interview. I went to the dealership and was met by a person who said they were a service hired by the dealership to do their recruiting. The interview lasted about an hour. He said he liked me and invited me to go to phase 2 of the process. That phase consisted of going to training for 2 days at another location. He also said that there was a tuition of $250. for the training but the dealership would reimburse me after 90 days on the job. When I left I was in a great mood thinking I had landed the job. When I got home I googled his name and it came up with Automax sales training. I have since learned that if there are 1 or 2 openings they will get 10 or 15 people to go to the training at $250. After the training you are put in a pool of prospective new hires and you may or may not be offered a position. They make their $2500. to $3750. for the training either way. Seems pretty shady especially since most of the applicants are out of work and don't need to spend that kind of money. I ended up not going. I didn't get the job but I also didn't shell out $250.00 for a roll of the dice either.

College Student

I recently graduated from college and am looking for a job. I received a text from Daniel Hitch claiming to represent ADECCO , offering me a network management job, (One I had applied for a week earlier) for $45 an hour working from home. Where things went south is when he sent me a check to pay for software I was to use in my job and wanted me to deposit the check into my account and then pay for the software up front by making a wire transfer using $4900.00 of my own money. Of course, the check would not post, and I would have been scammed badly. Businesses should use PO's (Purchase Orders) , not wire transfers!

Scams

Recently I have seen an alarming increase in posts from people inquiring as to whether a position they have applied for is a scam. Sadly, more often than not if you suspect a potential position for which you have either applied for or have been contacted about is a scam, it usually is. Below is an e-mail I received with regard to a position I never applied for which in my opinion is most definitely a scam:

hrmanager@daewoong-pharmaceutical-co.org We are acknowledging receipt of your resume sent to us and we are interested in furthering your application process.

I am Stephan Chang, the Human Resources (HR) Manager. at Daewoong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd in Rockville, MD. After careful consideration, we want to setup an interview with you and discuss more about the job position, benefits and company briefing. We hope to hear from you soon.

*PART TIME/FULL TIME *SALARY:29$/HOUR

*DUTIES: Specifically you will act as an online Admin Assistant/Receptionist/Secretary/Customer Service/Operations Manager

*INTERVIEW Please set up a Google Hangout ID. Once you have created this I.D, instant message Hiring Manager Michael Bradley via Google Hangout on this ID (michaelbradley0147@gmail.com). He will be online to setup an interview and a chance to ask any questions about this job, position or our company. The interview will proceed as soon as you have added Mr Michael Bradley, unless a latter time is scheduled for you by him.

Stephan Chang. Human Resource.

Some key points that made me suspicious of this were, 1 - I never applied for any position with this company, 2 - the spelling and grammar used is clearly incorrect, 3 - Asking me to set up a Google Hangout in order to conduct the interview. I did some research on the company and they do in fact exist and yes, they do have a U.S. office based in Rockville, Md. Now, notice the e-mail address where this came from, now take a look at the actual e-mail address for the REAL Stephen Chang which is listed on the company website: stephan.chang@daewoong.co.kr Also take notice that the REAL Daewoong Pharmaceutical Co. web address is daewoong.co.kr and NOT daewoong-pharmaceutical-co.org as listed above. Now, after doing some further investigating I discovered that this e-mail actually was sent from someone in Lagos, Nigeria and NOT from Rockville, Md here in the U.S.
If you ever suspect someone trying to scam you, do as much research as you possibly can before responding to an e-mail such as this. Trust your instincts.

Scam artist beware!!

A person is going by Dr Phillip Martinez is a fraud and scamer. Tried to get me to deposit $2900. Into my bank and was telling me a portion was for me to be his personal assistant and was in need for me to send it to orphanages. He/she would only communicate thru text/email. Just be smart about some of these companies, this is the 5th scam attempt I've gotten from potential jobs on here.

scam in the Louisville KY area

Had a guy offer to send me my first weeks pay and money for the first deliveries to a yet to open warehouse for Deans Electrical. Claimed he was in Canada the first contact then in China on the second email. Claimed his name Robert Tomkowiak. Told him I didn't know why a company would not have.billing setup with the delivery company or that any legitimate business would pay someone in advance.

Scam Alert-logistics company

I applied to a posting on indeed.com for DEA development for a customer service position. They emailed me telling me about the position that I would be posting items for sale on eBay and Craigslist, so I made an eBay account and was given two items to post on a five day auction, they gave me the pictures the description everything I needed to post the items. And they answered any and all questions about the items. I was told these two items were going to be what made me a trusted seller, before I was able to make the $19/hr and 10% commission on those two sales I would just be getting the commission so I said okay and did everything I was told again I was in constant contact with Peter Hoch who said he was from human resources for the company called Zeloxlogistics or ARO logistics. He answered all my questions and all payment was done through PayPal and everything seemed absolutely 100% legit. I was so happy I finally found something I could do at home and spend more time with my son and my husband could maybe quit his job I was ecstatic. But i was wrong, So the auction one auction sells for 2030 they're auction terms were 10 day delivery and 14 day returns. The buyer pays to my paypal waits his 10 days only to be told his item was damaged in delivery and is being sent back to Peter. He asks for a refund, and peter gives me the money to refund him, again I was ecstatic I thought okay even more proof that this is legit and I finally found something. Nope! The next auction ends for $4900 again the buyer waits 10 days but is told because of thanksgiving it might take a little longer he waits a week and still no product I constantly call Peter to find out what's going on he doesn't answer his phone, I'm emailing him he emails me back saying not to worry payment is fully insured through PayPal protection policy, it wasn't I'm still emailing him and trying to call him, nothing. Buyer asks for refund I don't have the funds to refund him as I had to send it all to peter through bitcoins eBay finally refunds buyer but is now harassing me telling me I owe eBay that money even though I have called eBay multiple times and never made it a secret I was third party selling the buyers knew that and eBay knew that but they are still trying to hold me accountable for the 4900 plus 490 final value fee even though I was the one scammed. The buyer got his money back I didn't get anything

Scam on job hiring

I came across a scam on job hiring. This person claims that he represents a company as a consultant to hire an executive assistant to help out one of the directors. I originally applied for accountant but he said it was no longer available but executive assistant was available for a similar salary. Since it was a non-profit organization, he said he will send me a cashier's check to buy a few items for fulfill their obligation to foster child care organizations. It was suspicious from the get go but I played along with it. He sent me a cashier's check for $2,945 and ask me to deposit to my bank and send him the proof of deposit and he will send me the address of the entity that I need to send the items. He apparently got my name from the employment site and also knew the company that I applied for a job. He told me he will view my application one more time and sure enough I was notified that the application was viewed even though the accountant position was filled. Well, I called the bank that the Cashier's check was produced and sure enough, it was a fake Cashier's check. It was a valid cashier's check number but it was for a different amount and already has been cashed out. I am posting this because it is no longer foreign country like Nigeria with some surprised winning, the address that the check was sent from is in Florida and the name matches someone living in Florida. Just wanted to give you heads up that there are fraudulent activities in the job market praying on people looking desperately for a job. Be careful out there and call the bank (through your research of actually bank number not the number reflected on the check). They could trace the check but also find out how much was written for and other details of the check before you proceed.
