Frustaiting decision or that I'm impatient

So I have been looking for job a year before I graduated on may 2016 and I did receive an offer for a position recently in my field but I decided to turn it down mainly because it was 2hrs away (one trip $20 or a tank of gas) and the work hours was the afternoon almost midnight and the pay was $12hr. I feel like I missed a opportunity but my reasons was that I didn't want to take a position that I'll end up quitting. Also if I thought about renting and even that I'll be in the negative -$.

Speak Now or Forever Hold Thy Peace

Do you think I have any wiggle room here to discuss another compensation package for a job offer I already verbally accepted? I was contacted with the initial job offer late last week which I quickly accepted over the phone but after talking to family and friends in the business I finding out that there’s an opportunity for a slightly higher pay rate than what’s currently being offered. I’ve never had to renegotiate a salary before so I’m not quite sure of the proper professional protocol and process to communicate this without having the offer completely retracted by the employer. I still haven’t received the official written copy of the offer yet but I’m expecting it’s going to arrive sometime this week. Any Suggestions?

What should I do

I have had an interview with a company ,signed insurance papers and had my drug . My drug screen came back clean last Friday but they said they were still waiting on my binder " whatever that is ". So my question is should I still be going to interviews and trying to find a job or what ? I think I have the job but you never know with today's market in the gas and oil industry.

Authorization Specialist

I recently accepted a job offer with a company yesterday. Unfortunately I had a job interview today with another company. I hope I did the right thing by emailing the HR dept and letting them know that I accepted a job offer and thanked the manager for the opportunity. Does anybody have any thoughts on how I handled the situation? Did I do the right thing by letting the company know that I accepted another job offer?

Successful Interview with Job Offer and some Observations

So my previous employer called me back this morning. I SO WANT TO GO BACK TO WORK WITH THEM...not because the job is permanent, but there could be an offer later on down the road, plus the experience again would just boost my resume even GREATER.

However my Honeymoon dates are getting in the way...however it might work out because I already went through the training and it would only take me 2 days to catch up with the rest of the folks...I am that much ahead. I really really want this job, if I don't hear back from my contact I will contact them again tomorrow afternoon....I know shes busy and I don't need to add more pressure onto her. She had to Check with HR about my particular situation anyway.

Now I did go on an interview today as a backup plan. The previous job and this interview are connected, I can't say how or why...but I will say it would be a continuation ...

So i go to the interview and I am amazed at the numbers of people there.

There were people in their 60's lining up for interviews, there were a few people my age and a lot of younger ones either just out of college ...I would say between the ages of 25-32 Max

They way they dressed and acted was just beyond me.

Please, don't wear torn jeans, sneakers, pull over shirts... dress appropriately. That means your SUNDAYS BEST Don't chew gum Don't bring out your cell phone and start taking pictures of yourself Don't pace the floor And if someone is older than you and there is limited seating...give up your seat for the elder...its polite Don't complain about waiting around either

ACT Professional even if its NOT the job for you,

Look its tough out there I know...95 Million Americans out of work, a 9.7% unemployment rate

Do all that you can to make yourself look like they want to hire you not someone they have to hire.

You Gotta be Kidding Me..

What’s makes a job offer valid? I recently found myself in a great space with 2 job offers on the table to consider. Both job offers verbally discussed were almost a mirror match to each other. Both companies (A & B) are nationally recognized organizations offering decent starting salaries, great benefits, and quarterly bonus incentives. I felt company (A) had more career progression opportunities but was located in the downtown area of the city which would involve more travel time and additional transportation expenses. I asked both companies for 3 days to think about the offers and respond. Both companies agreed to forward me the job offer letters and new hire orientation information. Company (B) sent me the information immediately but I never recieved company (A) new hire info. After countless phone calls and emails I finally received an email from company (A) claiming that after further budgetary evaluations they have decided to suspend the offer and close the job opening. I immediately signed the offer from company (B) but couldn’t help thinking how close I came to sabotaging 2 job opportunities. Is there no integrity left in the employee/employer relationship? How can reputable companies get away with this type of behavior without enduring any legal repercussions?
