Finally some good news
Finally got the job and I start today, feels good to work lets see how this goes

Job Fair?
Help!! I’ve never been to a job fair and to be honest I don’t really even know what happens there. I remember my mom telling me that she went to a couple of career fairs when she was looking for a job but she claims those events weren’t very helpful and she never got a job offer out of any of them. Theres going to be one in my town next week so I still want to give it a try and maybe have my own positive experience. Should I dress up and be prepared to interview with various companies on the same day or are job fairs more of a Q&A opportunity. What should I expect?

Sucker punched: a true testament to what an epic failure outsourcing recruiting can be....
So I got a phone call yesterday from a company I had applied to back in May. The GM made me an offer over the phone about 30 seconds into the conversation. This was a position with a company I REALLY wanted to work for so I was SUPER excited, but I had to ask what changed his mind? He asked what I meant and was completely puzzled by my question. He made mention of the walk-through of the plant we went on....at which point I had to stop him and tell him I did not walk through the plant with him. I explained that I had received a second phone interview, then a "thank you for applying email". He stopped, then asked what my last name was... It was a Jennifer he was calling-just not me. The recruiting company had given him the wrong phone number. He was horrified and apologized emphatically. I assured him it was okay, and an honest mistake, and to call me if he changed his mind. No matter what I said, it didn't feel okay. Quite the contrary actually. It felt like someone knocked the wind out of me, and I've never wanted to play dumb so badly in my life.

Job Offer Details
What else should I be looking for on a written job offer before I sign? I finally received a job offer from a residential management company I have been trying to get into forever. The offer letter has start date, salary, and title details but doesn’t mention health care and time off benefits information. Shouldn’t that information be on the offer as well?

Information?
Anyone ever land a job via an informational interview? USA Today and other online media suggest this approach as another job hunting alternative but I’m not sure if it’s worth dedicating time to researching, creating, and sending out a bunch of letters to companies requesting info interviews if it’s a proven dead end approach to gaining employment. Suggestions?

Change of Heart!
I recently applied for two jobs, but initially only heard from the one. I immediately took the job because I’ve been job searching for a long time with no luck, but two days after I started my new job the other office I interviewed with called me with a job offering for a much better position. Do I have to stay with the job I chose first or is it okay to switch? I’m not sure what to do at this point. My new job isn’t awful but I know would definitely enjoy the other one more.

Update on work situation; Good news
I was contacted by the Hyatt Regency at 11:00 this morning with an official job offer which I accepted. I'm officially an employee of the Hyatt! I'm so excited! I start training on the 28th. My interview with UPS is Monday and I just hope that goes well too.

Does anyone have any tips to share on how to know if a job offer is genuine or if it is a scam? I got scammed recently after being told I was hired for a data entry job? Is there a way you can tell before accepting or denying a job, is there a website that you can checkout for the legitimacy of the offer?

what am I doing wrong
I have done the application I even had an interview and was hired I was so excited. I was waiting on the email to fill out my tax info.... It never came. I found out that I had made a mistake on my email address so I went and fixed it....at least I think I fixed it. I don't know what to do now.

2week notice
I recently started a job thru a staffing agency and on my second day of the job was offered a better job which I intend to take. My question who do I give my notice too, the staffing agency or the actual company that I work at? By the way job starts on 25th of this month.
