The eternal language

I am a systems engineer, DWH expert, I have many years of ETL experience, but the language issue is very difficult. Most telephone interviews are made by people in India, which makes it even more difficult to understand them, without wanting to make any offense. I am sure that with an opportunity I could show what I know and how I could help but it is a race that seems to have no end. Nor am I young what makes it harder to get a chance. Any suggestions ??

Job Hunt

Hello, Sir/Ma’am,

My self Nimrat. I have completed MBA (Masters in Business Administration) from La Sierra University Riverside CA, USA. I am an international student. So as per the law, international students need to have a job within 3 months after getting graduate and I am into the same situation. But the main issue is I just have 15days left to have a job. And if by any chance I will not get a job now in these 15 days I have to leave the country no matter how hard I have tried to get a job. I have been struggling since last 6 months for this job or a job which can change my situation or can help me to pursue my dreams. In today’s world of internet or social media, I am just trying to help myself out with everything that I can do. So I am just writing this random email or letter to everyone with the hope that I should get at least one chance before I declare myself a loser. I have struggled a lot to achieve all that I have today. I am willing to work hard as hard as possible, I am a very consistent person. I don’t want anyone to help me just before I need help but I want someone to give me one chance before stating that I do not qualify for doing anything (Job). Please if you think you or any of your contact can help me please contact. I have 4 years of experience in customer service and operations manager. I have done an internship as assistant administrator in the nursing home plus I am graduated with MBA.

I expect one miracle.

Thank you.

She left a good job and moved to a new country

Neha Deoliya wrote about her job hunting experience in a new country. Find it on LinkedIn "How I landed a job of my choice in a foreign country"

Last year I left my lucrative job at Amazon and moved to Brisbane, Australia to gain international exposure. Since I did not know a single person in my domain here, job search looked daunting. ...Thankfully, I realised very early on that I needed to change my approach and do things differently. [From the usual impressive CV with cover letter and applying online.] Here are the three things that worked for me in the process.

  1. I started attending local networking events (Connected with a variety of types of people.)
  2. I stopped asking for jobs (Researched a company, determined what she could OFFER, and contacted directly senior personnel, such as directors; got replies from about 80% !)
  3. I never failed to grab an opportunity to learn (Grabbed opportunities to learn more, even accepting internships.) Important points that she learned. --Step out of your comfort zone --Never lose self-confidence --Build patience & control feelings of desperation --Your work experience speaks for itself --Enjoy career breaks--they can be opportunities to think outside of the box
