One time where I almost gave up was
I almost gave up less than a month ago. In a matter of a week, I lost my job and my residence, and my situation required me to sacrifice comfort, my connection to family via treasures lost, and closing a chapter in my life that deemed itself toxic to my livelihood. It has been a journey of growth and learning since that moment that life showed up and caught me with a sucker-punch, and I'm learning about myself all over again through feedback from friends that continue to provide love aned support in ways that nourish my functioning on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level.

Who was your best mentor and why?
Everyone is a leader. As John Maxwell said, leadership comes down to one thing - influence. You influence more people than you know. Many of us can trace lessons learned back to a great mentor. Who was your best mentor? Who taught you valuable lessons and/or challenged your assumptions? What's the best thing you learned from them? How do you pay it forward? Thank you for sharing!

Lpn it was close to home. There was a sense of family relationship working there.
Not able to find full time employment. I almost gave up then I gave someone at ride toa nursing home and the individual encourages me to apply for a position I resist and she encourages me . I did and I got hired and the person I took there did not get hired. I felt bad for her . She was not applying for the same position as I did.

One great thing I learned from my boss was...
The one great thing that my boss taught me at the purple Onion is that you can do what you set you mind to, no matter how old you are. This help me achieve the goals I set for myself in the restaurant business and to get to where I am now and have the skills I have.

Accepted to what has been given
I know alot of people are to the point on giving up a job search and feel its pointless to keep trying ..Ive given up before many times but trust and believe everyone who is successful has had alot of bad days before there success. I have a felony on my record the only jobs i have been able to really get with out question is fast food ..im now saving up and investing my time and money into opening up my own restaurant no matter how many jobs turned me down in my past it only made me want to be my own boss and give people like myself a second chance at getting a job no matter the background...
