Found work after a lot of prayers
I just started a new position last week. I had been looking for work for 6 months. I didn't have a lot of faith in finding a new one, but I did. I am 73 years old and have been a bankruptcy Paralegal for close to 30 years. I am working for a creditor now instead of debtors in their legal/bankruptcy department. For all of you out there looking, don't give of hope. Like I said, I am 73 years old and got a high paying fantastic job. Good luck to all.

Todays the day!
I have orientation today!!! A little nervous but also excited!! Wish me luck you guys!!

Conditional offer/ I got it!
EDIT: I passed everything and start Monday. I'm so happy and excited!
So I received a conditional offer. If I pass my background check and my drug test. Fingers crossed please! I have no doubt I'll pass the background and drug test. But until I'm actually given hours, I'm going to continue to worry. I seriously need a job. Hopefully once this is all done and I'm working this massive ball of dread in my abdomen will finally go away.

I got hired today
I got my first job n a long time n Im actually thankful that someone realize me its so sad how u got to leave another town just to get a job period thanks for giving me a chance I start work tomorrow #TBBELL

So far so good
First three days on the job not so bad loading boxes in straight trailers for delivery across the country. Yesterday was my birthday but I usually work my birthday. The job itself isn't that hard though I like the fact I set my own pace and make sure all the boxes are set to fit the trailer a certain way but I keep to myself and conversations to a minimum and just keep working on filling the trailers. To those still looking for work just keep looking you find something just stick with it.

What's new (around me...)?
Hey good people! I hope everyone is well. I haven't been on here in a while due to fact that I ended up finding a job. Well... not just one, but two! They're not exactly what I wanted but they pay the bills. One is through a temp service. The place is Wornick. They make and ship food for the military. The second job is a driver at Pizza Hut. In the meantime I also started going to school again at Ohio Media School (formerly known as Ohio Center for Broadcasting) for Audio Emphasis. Hopefully after I graduate, I end up with a career in audio engineering. I love my classes though! So for everyone, stay strong, stay in faith and follow your dream! You're time is coming!

I’m excited.....
Tomorrow will be my official first day of training for my new full time position at ALDI. I’m excited but I’m also a bit nervous....I’m so grateful for this opportunity because it was a long road ahead of me....To be hired directly in with no initial interview by the district manager is definitely a BIG THING.... Sadly I had to say goodbye to Amazon but I will always have a home there. Good luck to me on my first day tomorrow.....

Switched jobs after 11years- Nervous
I've been employed with my previous employer for 11+years. Within the last 2 years the company was sold twice and I started feeling like my job wasn't safe. My original plan was to start looking for another job after I finished school. I'm scheduled to graduate October 2019. But, started applying for jobs earlier than expected. Needless to say I was called, interviewed, and chosen. I have another 25 years in me. I'm nervous but the good kind. It's never too late to start over.

Changed careers by accident.
I took a friend to an interview and walked out with a job.
I have been a CNA for years. Health-care takes alot out of you. I had been looking to change. I am 50 and a stroke survivor. I have a iffy memory so I have been reluctant to go back to school... plus is it really vital at this age?
I am now Room Inspection Shift Supervisor. the pay is decent because I can do this full time and get OT. I could not work as a CNA full time.
It is to your advantage to talk to people. I look forward to this new experience.

Always ask questions..
So I am looking to get a new job. I had 2 interviews and followed up with Thank you card, without harassing the interviewers (Advice #1 always get a business card). I finally got the call from HR giving me the position. I was Koolaid smiles and jumping up and down. The job involved assisting management and lots of traveling without compensation for milage. I was a 25% PAY CUT for a lot more work. I asked if they had a sign-on bonus or could they meet me 1/2 way. BIG FAT NO! so my question to the collective could I have done better or did I make a mistake?
