My advice to people interested in working at #FantasticSams as a #Hairstylist ...

Make sure you have some clientele to follow you, i was at a location that strived for you to meet a quota. I was fresh out of school, and working in an entirely different city, with a whole different pace. My school was in a small town and there were days you may only have 1 client. The Fantastic Sams location I found a place at was much busier, and although we didn't take appointments they did allow requests of stylists.

Segue to New industry...

I've enjoyed a number of years in this industry. 25 + to tell you. Why why why now that I have moved to a small southern town can I not manage to build a clientele? Seriously, I've been published in SELF magazine & have many other skills & accolades. I am a VALUED Stylisted in a bigger city though no one will talk to me here. 1 reason I'm sure of is that unfortunately when we found our affordable DREAM home is was not in the best part of the city. So What? Ask me about my skills not where I live. It's a 125 year old Victorian we bought. In pretty good condition. We're restoring slowing but it's GORGEOUS. As soon as everyone sees the Salon on social media they are in contact. & as soon as I deliver the address they're already gone. Maybe ppl should inquire if I am good at my job 1st? No.? After 5 years of trying to build & $10,000.00 to build Studio I have to find another income source. What did you do when got out Hairstylist? I love my industry. I need to pay bills though. Help if you could. I am in upper 50's but feel like 40. I can bust it just like the younger ones. Trust me.
