Inc's "30 under 30" Entrepreneur list...
fun read. Some cool products.
There's a lot to be said for being your own boss and being an entrepreneur. I warn a lot of people "the grass is always greener.." - meaning its really really tough to succeed as an entrepreneur. A lot of us do so out of necessity, not choice. But tenacity, and good ol' fashion American work ethic can get you a long way. Check out these cool stories of people giving it a go and being recognized as outstanding in their early potential &/or success

Maybe we should listen to this guy about what to read.....
I have a TON of respect for Bill Gates. Amazing technologist, businessman, entrepreneur and then he takes all that wealth and talent and focuses it on philanthropic endeavors which are literally benefitting millions. Pretty cool. Here he has a list of suggested summer reads. Think I'll pick up one or two....

They just don't get it!
Sigh. Another report by social scientists w masters degrees publishing at Harvard telling the rest of us how we can choose to break our "addiction to work". Seriously??!! My dad, brothers and I have all worked way over 60 hour weeks most of our lives, but it's not addiction ya ivy-league-well-meaning-luvable-knuckleheads. We gotta pay the bills!! My dad.- a commission-only insurance agent wanted to get his kids thru college because he nor his parents could afford to get him thru. He did it! (Thanks mom and dad). But he did it cuz he worked crazy hours towards this goal he didn't work crazy hours cuz he was "addicted to work". He did it to provide for his family in the way he wanted. Honestly, they really should have a semester at advanced degree colleges that put them in real world situations to try to teach empathy, no? Lol, ok I'm done. It's just so strange to keep reading things in one set of publications that seem so disconnected from most people's reality. And I thought I'd voice that frustration here....

I found this article about what not to do in an interview and the one about not sitting down before they invite you to sit really surprised me. Does that really hurt my chances? http://www.wisebread.com/10-things-you-should-never-do-during-a-job-interview

The maintenance of integrity

Age is just a number.... $30mm offer to 14yr old CEO!
Love this story I just came across on Huffpo. Never too young or too old for entrepreneurship! ( ps: I'da prob taken the $30mm and run! - but then again, I was listening to albums and hangin' with friends at 14 - not starting multi-million$$ companies)

Men: Have you given up trying to find a job?
CNN Money is recruiting readers for what I think can lead to a frightening report on the US male worker - (American men are disappearing from the work force. Some are incarcerated, others disabled. But many just can't find a job and have given up) - http://economy.money.cnn.com/2015/09/02/men-have-you-given-up-trying-to-find-a-job/

A positive Detroit article - and its really cool
As a guy who grew up about 40 mins from Motor City I am often saddened by the state of affairs in Detroit over last decade or 2. Not this wknd though - reading this over the weekend was so awesome. These strategic young ladies kicked butt on a national scale. quick and fun read... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/detroit-all-girls-team-wins-top-prize-at-prestigious-chess-tournament_us_57239345e4b0b49df6ab2d5e

Shocking Middle Class Secret is no surprise for America's Working Poor!!
This Atlantic News article was shared with me by a co-worker today so I decided to move the message along to the community. It reveals what we already know first hand or may have experiences but too ashamed to talk about it. Great Read - http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2016/05/my-secret-shame/476415/
