I have a problem and I think this is what is hindering me finding steady employment or even getting an interview. Experience on my resume may indicate that I job hop. This was through me not quitting but me being let go as a temp and haven’t been able to get out of temp jobs. What can I do?

I'm 31 & since I was 19 have been a stay at home parent. I've had small part time cashier jobs, truck stop Dollar General... I've also had housekeeping jobs cleaning beach houses and residential homes. But things have changed & I find myself desperately searching for a job that is full time or at least pays enough to cover the few small bills I have. I've put over 50 applications in online because that's how most places want you to apply. I haven't tried applying out of my league, that's next however, but I haven't gotten but 2 calls for an interview! Both interviews seemed to be going well until I was asked about my job history. Needless to say I didn't get either job due to lack of experience. I'm a total people person & was loved by all my coworkers & customers at the few jobs I have had. My resume is short and not very appealing to the people in charge of hiring. If I were given the chance to apply in person and meet some of the managers I feel I'd stand slightly more of a chance than I have applying online. These online applications are sorted through by experience, skill & Lord knows what else but after 50 applications and 0 luck I'm beginning to wonder what I'm lacking.... Any tips on how a single mother with less than 2 years retail/sales experience is supposed to find a job & support her household???

I am starting over after 23 years at home and raising kids and being a helpful wife to my husband of 25 years. Now, I find myself needing to get a job and although I have lots of experience in many areas... I keep getting denied. I think my resume is sabotaging me! I need help understanding how to present a 50+ year old who is young at heart and very willing to learn and work. I need income in order to provide for my 4 daughters.

I had a phone interview today in which the interviewer asked me an odd question. She asked how I survived financially during an 8-month job gap 10 or so years ago. She then said she wondered if I had lived off savings. Does anyone have any ideas about how an answer to that question might help her determine if I am suitable for the job?

As I look at the length of time I've stayed at these jobs I see that its 2 months here or 3 months there or 6 months there (if accurate). I believe this is the reason Im not getting any call backs. I hate listing the jobs where I only stayed a few months. Its embarrassing. I even fill like not even applying anywhere. What's the use? How can I make MY resume still stand out? How can I fill in the application if I was terminated or quit?

What is a good advice for single mothers who haven't worked for past 5 years to take care of their children, but is now ready to go back to work now that the kids are of age to stay at home without parental supervision

I graduated with a Bachelors in Accounting. Soon after I graduated, i worked for a CPA firm for one year and then i worked for a multi-national investment company for about three years. I had a baby and decided I need to take some time off... fast forward 7 years, I had three more kids. It didn’t make sense to work since my entire paycheck would be going to day care. Now my kids are old enough to be in school and now I am ready to start my career! Only problem is that I am not getting any calls! I know my employment gap is huge but I had a valid reason. I am getting rejection emails from even entry level positions that I am very well qualified to do!

What should I do next?
