Can I get paid for being a family caregiver? I’m going to have to take time off from work to care for my ailing mother soon. I filed an FMLA claim at work that will cover up to 3 months of time of without pay. Thankfully, my husband will still be working but home finances are going to get frighteningly tight without my paycheck so I’m looking for an alternative supplemental income during that time . I heard about a government insurance program that offered family members compensation for in-home care but I can’t find anything online. Anyone familiar with this or a similar program?
