Is it with the whole family? Are you on the bottom and the youngest? Do you like your family and do you live with them also? Sometimes it can be a good thing My sister and I used t both be flight attendants but everyone talked about my little sister and she ended up getting fired and I stayed on for more than 26 years. So you see there are both pros and cons? If you think this family member will have your back then go for it. They can always quit. Ha Ha!! Lisa Renwick

I’ve been a flight attendant and in the travel industry for 15 years now, and I absolutely love the airline and my co-workers. Unfortunately, this year I was recently passed up for a promotion, and I think it’s because of my age. The promotion responsibilities includes overlooking international flights which of course require a longer regular flight path. I feel like they don’t think I’ll be able to endure the hours for the term of the assignment. I don’t think they appreciated the fact that I’ve been working international flights for the bulk of my career and I still feel healthy and energetic enough to take on the role. They didn’t say but I feel it was an automatic decision and the interview was extended to me as a courtesy for my years of service. I’m just really bummed out. How do you think I can prevent being passed over for another promotion because of my age?
