Time to be my own boss
I’ve been looking for employment since January of this year. I’ve attended job fairs and work shops to try to get an understanding on what I’m doing wrong with not at least being called for an interview. I have a bachelors degree and currently working on a Masters Degree in business administration. So, I’m not giving up, I’m going to prevail as I’ve decided to start my own business. I have the motivation, skills, most importantly innovation to achieve my goal. I’m telling everyone please do not give up because that’s the easy way out. Continue to be strong and we need more entrepreneurs in society.

Straight from the Entrepreneur's mouth...
I had the pleasure of judging the EY New England Entrepreneur of the Year finals this week. The companies these entrepreneurs are building are wildly diverse. Biotech, tech, consumer goods, retail. $5mm revenue up to billions of revenue. Private companies and public. Ones that started with nothing and some that started with millions of Venture Capital funding. All sorts. And the entrepreneurs themselves were from all sorts of backgrounds. Harvard grads, high school grads, Bostonians, first generation immigrants. And - they were ALL IMPRESSIVE. And I feel lucky to have met them and learn from them. America is lucky to have entrepreneurs throughout this country building amazing companies and employing amazing people. I asked many of these Semi-finalists the following question because I thought Jobcasers would enjoy the answer. Here it is for your consideration....
Question: What thoughts or advice would you give to someone thinking of beginning an entrepreneurial path and starting their own company?
Answers from various Semi-Finalists for Entrepreneur of the Year:
• Do Something you love
• Do it right before you do it fast, do it right and the money will follow.
• Be very true to ones self. Surround yourself with the right people and seek out and find the truth.
• Go for it. There's no right answer. Just work through the problems.
• Surround yourself with people that believe in the mission and hire people who complement what you are not good at.
• People want to accomplish great things, give vision of building big things and people will follow.
• Focus on values based leadership. Start and end with values. What do you want to stand for – if you don’t stand for something you will fall for everything.
• Let the swimmer be a swimmer and the sprinter be a sprinter (metaphor related to Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt)
• Be convinced you want to do it (starting a company). Don’t take entrepreneurial path because you aren’t happy with the one you are on, do it because you absolutely feel you need to do it.
• If you are passionate, then go for it. Biggest regrets are about the opportunities you don’t pursue.
• Just do it!
• Be honest. Say what you don’t know – so you can get the help you need. Use failure as inspiration.
• Do it. The Difference between a great entrepreneur and not is how you react when you run into great adversity.
• Entrepreneurs are by definition, stupid. We think we will succeed and all risks will be overcome. Preserve that stupidity – go with it and take risks and trust your gut.
• Make sure you have a sound support system (wife, loved ones) – the entrepreneurial road can be long and difficult. And DON’T RUN OUT OF CASH.
• Take the leap.
• Just do it.
All of these entrepreneurs are winners. They all have emerged from the many companies started each year to be successful and growing rapidly. Many of them are striving to change the world. I hope this quick question informs and inspires you. The entrepreneurs road isn't for everyone. But anyone who has the persistence, grit and drive can successfully pursue it. These leaders did. And I thank them for sharing these thoughts.

It's exciting but extremely time consuming to create your own fashion line, but when it's done it will take off like a storm!

Starting Your Own Business!
I know, it is scary. The thought of starting your own business is very daunting. For years I thought about it. I have been working with furniture as a hobby since I was 9 years old, and throughout my life it had become a passion. One day after talking about starting my own business for the umpteenth time, y husband finally said it. "Why don't you?" After I laid out the reasons of why it would be a bad idea, money, space, etc....he said, "sounds like a bunch of excuses."
He was right, stop making excuses! If you have an idea, and it makes you happy, GO FOR IT. Yes it is great my husband believed in me, but I needed to believe in myself first. Remember Microsoft was started in a garage, with no money. All Bill Gates had was a dream, and a belief in himself!

Things Will Work Out!
Two and a half years ago both my husband and I lost our jobs. We ended up living out of a motel for eight months, on top of that we lost EVERYTHING. My husband ended up finding a job with LKQ, through a temp service, and I found a job a fast food restaurant through this very site. We luckily found a landlord who understood our situation and allowed us to move into a small apartment.
2 years later, my husband is now a lead at LKQ, and I own my own business. Today we received the amazing news that we are getting a home! There are times that things look dark. There are times that it all will feel hopeless, and sadness is all you know. Don't give up! The moment you do, this thing called life wins. My husband and I are proof that hard work and perseverance will get you out of that dark place! Remember the only person you are hurting by giving up is you.

Need employment
Im in need of employment while also tryong to start my own small business any advice?

Successful and attitude
We started The SoftWorld Group several months with a vision no one else had. We were also very lucky. We hired a couple of people with no luck. I realized that what we were attempting to do is difficult and a vision with legs more than you can tech in a week. The good thing is it’s we have been approached by Lego, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation as well as the World Bank. They all wanted to work with us. That is LUCK.
We will make money at what we do but more importantly, we will leave a legacy. Kids and young latent all over the world will get a chance they can not do today. Wish is us more luck.
Keep in mind that this was only possible because we never gave up. Perseverance
I wish people would get together and swap ideas, put a plan together, believe it and keep going until it is successful. Keep in mind that you start a company just to make money, you never will. You need to have a passion for what you do, then you have a chance.
Keep trusting
