Advice on starting a new job over 40
I am a 48 year old male looking to begin a new career, I have been putting out quite a few job applications for positions that seem well suited to my education and experience but am not hearing back from any potential employers. Are there others out there facing similar challenges in finding a new job and what advice can you share if you have had success landing a new career?

To old to make a difference?
I'm finding it difficult to get call backs or interest from numerous companies that have received my resumes. Yes, I am 68...and although I am only looking for part time employment (tutoring 5yr. old grandchild two days a week) I am reliable, very dedicated (ran several family businesses for almost 50 yrs.) and willing to work odd hours (12p.m. - 6a.m.?) My strengths: Recieving, pricing, designing, stocking and may I ever be so humble ~ personality.

Tired of looking for the Right Job/Discouraged
I am working to get me by jobs, which I am so tired of trying to get back to the income level I am accustom to.. I have had countless interviews with much higher income levels. Recently, I interviewed with a small company four times because the manager had to wait for a President to get back in town or was not available. The company is wasting my time. I thought the forth time I would have an offer on the table. The company is suppose to get back with me Thursday, even so if I do get the job I will not be happy with the process of how this company is conducting themselves through the interviewing process, and wasted much of my time. I honestly do not want another get me by job. I am in a stage of my life where I really need more stability in a job. I am trying to let them know my time is valuable as well in a diplomatic way. I am in a preliminary phase of a couple other interviews that are better jobs. Suggestions please?

Discouraged
I have been looking for work for 3 months. I am so frustrated and feel very discouraged. I was supposed to hear today about whether or not I got a job with a very wonderful company. I know the day is not over but I still haven’t received a call. I’m scared. I have to find something. I’m a single mom and I have zero help from his father. I do everything on my own. I feel down and low today. Any advice? I feel so alone

Not frustrated,just curious.
I've been seeking employment for a year and a half now.And I'm starting to wonder if being a senior (60)has anything to do with my not getting hired.I have a college degree in Health Science,a veteran with multiple skills,I go to interviews and get no courtesy calls, but I will not be denied I just drive on.

Offered new job, put 2 weeks in and now no response?
I was offered a job and was told to put 2 weeks in. Now, 2 weeks is passed and the following Monday(today, July 2nd) was supposed to be my start day. However I have been trying to call since last week and sent emails about what time and location do I go for training. I have gotten no response from emails or calls from the hiring manager since a week ago and now am Jobless.
What can I do?

Frutration
You know what’s irritating how you go onto a job site to apply and you just continue to get linked to all these different sites not to mention now your email address is out and everybody is emailing you about where to apply so the same thing keeps happening and no one ever calls you.
