AmazonGo is a Game Changer!

Amazon's Just Walk Out Technology is about to dramatically change the way we do our grocery shopping but what does this mean for the future of retail employment? http://www.wsj.com/articles/amazon-grocery-store-concept-to-open-in-seattle-in-early-2017-1480959119

looking for work

Hey everyone. I have been looking for a great job and I know that there are a lot of them out there is that I am not getting the results that I am looking for. I have put in countless hours of filing out the apps and sending them in but nothing. I have graduated for my associates degree in Business management this year and I thought that would get through the door. But I guess that I am wrong. It does not matter if I have that paper or not. Now I am back in school going for my bachelors in Human Resource and I want to move forward to a great career but it seems like it is taken longer then I wanted to. I am so tired of living by paycheck to paycheck and my bills are piling high. Any of you all have any leads on the job searches? I can move to Ga if I have to and even there the jobs are scarce. Thanks guys

Elizabeth

Did Trump just save jobs?

Apparently Trump managed to stop Carrier from shipping 800 jobs to Mexico - but he had to give them a $7 million tax break to do it. I'm not sure this is the best way to save jobs. Or am I wrong? What do you guys think?

Please Find Another Solution

Sure, the $15 minimum wage idea is going to excite service workers who now earn a national minimum wage average of $8-$9 dollars per hour or less but it’s just not a feasible business model for independent franchises and small business owners who currently spend almost half of their profits on employee wages. We’re not talking about million dollar profit margins either like most people out there protesting might assume. The end result is ultimately going to lead to job loss or a $20 hamburger. How is this good for the the economy? I understand earning a living wage, like healthcare, is a major issue affecting millions of workers but isn’t there a better Solution?

Not a Fair Fight

My coworkers say I’m indifferent to more income because I’m still in school, don’t have any kids, and only work part time but I think that’s ridiculous. They don’t understand why I suggest we proceed with caution towards this national $15 minimum wage increase push. My boss told me the only way he can afford to pay $15 bucks and hour to all the workers in the restaurant is by cutting at least half of those jobs. That’s means more people will be forced to go out there and look for another job. I’ll probably be one of those to lose my job since I only work part time. How is that good move for the economy?

Parents

One thing holding me back from getting a job besides all I can seem to get are part time jobs are my parents they are in their 90's and I have to go see them at Christmas the time of year that jobs are everywhere. I have no official work record is another problem I worked for my self or was 1099 for most of my adult life I have been working since I was 16 years old and even before that at 14 I worked on a sod farm in the summer, but not having a work record where someone can check on how I worked makes it hard I have pictures of jobs I have done but that is not something you can use at a store or anyplace like that. I am on disability because when 2010 came around my work stopped because I was working on huge mansions setting tile the 2008 crash did not effect me till 2010 but after I had no work for a long period of time when IO tried to go back to work I could not do it anymore all my old injuries caught up with me it seems.

FALL OUT OF ECONOMICAL TRANSITION IN USA

You will find lots of reforms in Economical Areas and Job Market, with the enforcement of Immigration Reforms. as promised by Hon. President Elect in Election Manifesto. Dollar Index is running highest in last 14 years. To my opinion, you will find shortage of legal workers in USA. in next sex months. Don't worry.

I don't want to upset anybody, but .... there are interesting Prof. Shoshana Zuboff's Laws:

  1. Everything that can be automated will be automated.

  2. Everything that can be informated will be informated.

  3. Every digital application that can be used for surveillance and control will be used for surveillance and control.
