Are we in a tight Labor market?
I'm reading about people having difficulty finding employment yet the Gov't keeps reporting we're at near full employment and that there's a scarcity of workers and that rising salaries are causing inflation in the economy. Is the Gov't claims true?

Reaching Hopeless
Where to begin my violin story for easiest comprehension. I am a female engineer from the 2000 forward. All I faced from that time forward was prejudice and harrassment. People recommended I talk to HR. That was the worst advice for a woman let alone an a female engineer with no other women in the engineering group all the way to the top. Narurally, HR at GTI told me to handle it. Well, when the topic of my hair color came up over lunch by my supervisor to the point he ordered me to call my husband to verify his claim I colored my hair. Ok today, I'd get up and splash water on him, but I thought playing along I would keep my job. The harassment just grew to unbearable and I left. My boss removed my name from the article I wrote that eventually ended at my next Ft job w/o my name. Of course, the board required my name reinstatement, but it was too late as the dolly had been Sent out. I didn't realize how this would come back to haunt me two years later. I landed a flood contractor role with Dcp in Hobbs , NM. The operators and others enjoyed my engineering prowess but then EPA came. I was put in charge of rectifying the discrepancies in reporting to reality. Once everyone found out I was the one working on it, I became blacklisted from future orohects , my boss went as far as erasing all my completed projects and putting them down as incomplete and last due. Of course this occurred after a previous 'excellent' performance review not two months prior. Yes, I have the documentation of all of this. I was fired for saving lives when I didn't sign approvals on certain issues I believed were unresolved and found the court documentation to support my original statements I was fired for not six months later.
Since then I worked odd jobs f for a couple of thousand a year with no job interviews leaving DCP. I was made to feel like something was wrong with my achieving a higher education making me 'unhireable'. Now I am entering bankruptcy in part due to an injury I sustained on my first day of arrival at a contracting job and am now looking at selling my car for some money to stay afloat.
I can't support Stem in the US as it seems women followed by any higher education in the Sciences are stereotyped to be the dirt of workers with cement ceilings for women, majn!y. HR being the worst the worst in support.
I am at my ends wit what to do as I still have at least ten more years to work, but rejection on rejection with no leads to interviews has raised my hope of ever working at a decent living rate. Yss, i resent when the media repeatedly says there 'aren't enough Americans to fill high tech jobs'. It is BS. We are starving! Computer programs spit us out before an interview for not fulfilling every bullet a hiring manager could think of as a perfect person to employ. They this justify hiring H1B visa workers they train, I know this because I saw the quality of even the ivy league grads, most foreign born, at one well respected company I consulted at. I had to start a dictionary for them to comprehend the words they are throwing around in their reports. I got an interview but my back injury caused me to collapse. No, not one person there offered me a ride or an ambulance to a hospital. I was rejected as an unsuitable candidate and Sent to drive my car back to my rented apartment a failure. Amazing I made it at all!
So I am forming a job program to reduce these bullets no one can fill as demonstrated by many tech jobs remain open for several years. My current immediate need is income of well my house. Now would you like to live this njghtmare?

Gen Xers are too busy "getting stuff done to navel gaze".. (sound familiar or no?)
If you were born between 1965-1980, I'd love to hear - does this sound about right to you?.. Interesting article about the gen-xers trying to get stuff done. https://www.bostonmagazine.com/news/2018/04/10/generation-x-boston-workforce/

The Hardest Part Of Job Searching
I did not expect the economy to be so poor in Florida still. I don't care what the mayor says about job growth and "unqualified people" not getting hired. I am over qualified in my area, there are no jobs because companies are not seeing revenue due to low inflation. Dont get me wrong, billions of dollars are being spent on more high rise apartments and College expansions. Where are the kids going to work? New Tampa Bay Bucs Stadium?

The Corporation of the United States of America
When we The People, begin to understand and accept that in the good old USA there is no such thing as job security the better off we will be. I had to learn that the hard way after years of micro management, power plays, and the flexing of authority just because they could, not because they have to.
The only way to go in this country now is to create your own business, this is the only way that you can be assured that fairness of anykind will be executed.
However, be careful not to become just what they corporate america has become, power driven, not people caring because if you don't you will become just another hemp of rubbish in the industrial complex called the United States of America.
And for those that don't know any better the United States of America, recorded in historical records true name is The Corporation of the United States. It might not hurt if all of the unknower of true history do some real deep research, it all available. Why do you think the Government has been trying to implement laws to prohibit certain uses of the Internet. Please don't say because you think its for our own good!
Take off the blinders, and you might be able to find why we as a people have evolved in such a ruthless society and no more than a mere small pawn in a inhuman systematic, programmed world made up of non caring identies.

Reminder to store away some acorns (i.e. $$)......
This economy is not being enjoyed by everyone. Nevertheless it is likely the strongest economy we will have for quite some time. And unclear how long it will last. It's in these moments that we should be doing as much as we can to try and build a savings plan. No matter how modest, even $10/week builds good habits, but preferably you can find a way to store 10% of what you'll make this year for savings for when the economy does turn south someday. Yes, I know that's incredibly hard for most households. But still prudent. And should still be an objective. As I read all these headlines about our strong economy, I thought I'd put out a little public-service-announcement to remind us all to try and sock away a few acorns for when winter will eventually come... #economy #savings #planning

Economics
Need job for income to support life needs. Most companies that pay enough to meet rising prices are not hiring unless know right, their people. The companies that will hire you don't pay enough, leave you struggling, and cause may have matured out that type of job but if hired take it anyway cause at least little incime is better than no income. Right, wrong or both? Lifestyle adjustments but if made to feel like a zombie..... Something not right when income can't, won't cover proper stable living standards. Unity is the issue, the government not the problem.

Tired of the South
If you are considering moving to South Carolina...do yourself a huge favor...DONT! The only way to make it here is if you came here rich. Your bills change with the weather...literally. This place is not set up to help it is set up to put you in debt. They refuse to up the minimum wage while they strangle your last dime out of your hand..I hate it here and you will too.

It's all good? Steve in Indy.
Stock market at record highs. Unemployment the lowest it's been in years. The president the people who wanted to make America " great again " in office. It seems everything is all good right? Then, why so many homeless, jobless, hopeless, people of all ages, races and genders seem like it's not. Is it good so many of us are on this site either complaining about a job or not getting one or unfairly losing one..? I didn't really get on this site to give my opinions, I thought it was where we network to help each other. My views are just that, if you agree, great. I appreciate you checking that you do. If you don't, I don't mind. Thats your opinion. I won't be vulgar or nasty unless I'm insulted. After all I'm just trying to give you something to think about, maybe you can inspire the kind of change that is needed. Judging by some posts I've made in a couple of days, alot of people agree with me. It ain't all good is it? Steve in Indy.

Is the economy really booming?
I come on this site and read how some really decent and qualified people can't find a job.. and the S and P Index is up I read how people in their late 40's and 50's have lost their jobs and have kids to feed. And Wall Street just set another record. I learn how people have done all the right things and have been unemployed for years in cases. But the latest job stats say unemployment is at the lowest rate in 17 years. What's up? Am I missing something? I have neighbors that have been underemployed for years but when I hear the news it says something that is different from my reality. I have friends in other parts of the country and they see the same things I do...so what is the truth? I am confused.
