I have 2 felonies and a number of misdemeanors. I have not been in any trouble since 2004. What can I say? I was extremely stupid when I was young! Im now disabled and have applied for a few part time jobs with no luck. My background is the only thing I can think that's keeping me from getting hired. Any suggestions?

Age discrimination
I was very happy and working with a very prominent law firm for many years, was unjustly accused of mishandling an incoming call and ultimately let go without given an opportunity to plead my case. The irony right?! Since then I've been working as a CSR at a very unprofessional insurance company completely out of my professional character. The money is laughable. I've been applying & sending resumes daily for the past 8 months and have had no offers. I'm 58 and have over 40 years in legal and clerical experience. I think its true that when they see what year you graduated high school they probably say to themselves " she'll be retiring soon why hire". I'm also disabled and cannot get disability because they say that as long as your employed full time you don't qualify, how does that work? If I quit working so that I can qualify for disability funds that I have paid for all my life, who pays my bills? How will I survive? I don't understand.

I am striving to get back into the working world. My husband was so ill he could not work. I took care of him sometimes 'night' and day. There was no salary coming in from either of us for three years except his disability and my social security. He passed away and I am starting back to work when I can find a position in the medical fiend. I have much to offer. I am smart and quick. All my education is still a vital part of my mental acuity. I 'must' work. It is not an option for me to exist on social security.

Getting back to the norm
After 12 years on disability I’m getting back to work. I left as a SX auditor making $138,000 a year and even though I’ll only make $30 an hour, I’m excited to be back in my field with little certifications needed. Now I’m studying for my CIA ( certified internal auditor ) and CPA exams. On a personal note, I’m starting back at a gym so I can get my dancer body back and lose 25 pounds to get back to 116! I’m also looking at old farmhouses on land to buy. Life is good!

Hello.
I did ask this question a while before and i am asking it again: do disabled people looking for jobs get any help finding their specific jobs ?.
Thank you. Maria.

Wrongful Termination
I was terminated from my employment with TVA, Tennessee Valley Authority, of 14 years. Reason given for termination was I appeared sedated on the job. I have been diagnosed with severe obstructive sleep apnea.
My disability was never given any consideration. They called me into the plant, took my badge and escorted me out to my car. I never was allowed to retrieve my personal tools, clothes, safety glasses, boots, pictures.......

I like to work..
Im just trying to work. I draw disability but i need a job too i have two kids bacl

The best benefit at #Beendisabledfor5yrsduetocarwreck was definitely...
I was in a car wreck on October 21 2014 my fiance and his mother whom was driving were pronounced dead on the scene I was injured I received no compensation the insurance company wouldn't even make my PIP payments they paid $500 in medical bills and I am still having surgeries and reliving this tragedy Auto Owners was the insurance company they refuse to help me when they know they should I list so much that day no amount of money could ever replace so don't think it's about that cause all I asked for was my medical bills to be paid I even filled out the paperwork for them I have children and I'm about to lose my home and all I have because my credit was affected tremendously by those medical bills I can't even get a loan to help my family I don't know why they think this is fair or even the right or honest thing to do i wasn't asking for much compared to what I lost that horrible day
