New Beginnings for a 40 something year old

Hey to all...I've never posted on here but I've read some of the other posts and "thought let me give this a shot". If nothing else it'll get it out into the Universe more and less in my head. Here's my situation....I ran a successful business as the Entertainment Sales Director/Client Relations Manager in Los Angeles for over 18 years. When that job ended I took a year off and did some freelance work trying to figure out my next move. It turns out that my next "move" was literally a desire to move away from LA, and start some new beginnings. My destination choice was easy - Denver. I'm EXTREMELY happy with the decision but now I'm back to new beginnings when it comes to my career. I'm settled into Denver and started looking at potential new career options when BAM, I hit a wall. (not literally). Of all of my skill sets "Client Relations/Retention Manager" is where I feel my assets and interests are best suited. I'm very comfortable, confident and successful with face to face, verbal communication, as well as over the phone and feel it's a dying breed with so much tech in the world. Now back to the wall I've hit. I've put the word out to people here locally, so they've been referring me to some opportunities but I feel I need to do more on my end. I'm on JobCase, Indeed, Monster and GlassDoor as my main career websites. I get so many alerts and my own searches have produced so many results, even with filters, it feels like I'm trying to find a needle in a haystack. Another option I've considered but not tried are headhunters/recruiters/staffing agencies, since they know Denver better than I do and might steer me in a clearer direction. I don't want to start throwing darts and hoping one will stick....or maybe that's how I should be thinking???

If anyone has gone through a similar experience of finding a new career field after being employed by one for almost two decades, I'd really appreciate any feedback/input or suggestions. I also want to mention that since I've been in the Entertainment field, that's one of the arenas I've looked in here in Denver, but at this stage in my life I'm interested in any areas where my passions can also play a role, such as sports, working with youth, people with disabilities, etc.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help this dog chasing his tail. (see, clever and witty)
