I would like some help revising my resume. The problem is that I need someone familiar with my profession to guide me. I would like to change the setting in which I work, but all the bites I get on different sites are for jobs like the ones I've had before, even though I include a cover letter explaining my current goal. I am qualified to do the work I am currently searching for. I am an RN.

"Divorced & Back to Work - Need Help"

For the past 8 years I’ve been home raising children while my husband worked to provide for our family. Unfortunately this year we got divorced and as a result find myself under a tremendous amount of pressure to find a job soon. I’ve been aimlessly applying for every and any available job opening I could qualify for as a low-skilled worker but so far not one employer has given me the time of day. The biggest problem is that my resume has long gap of time off since I’ve stopped working to be a FT mom. How can use a cover letter to describe my situation in a professional manner and make myself more appealing to hiring managers?

Change or not change

Hello. I wrote a little while back. I just want to say thanks for all your input. Now I have another question. I have MANY years of medical experience on my resume, should I change my cover to state my switching careers? And also, how do I word it, which paragraph.? How can I emphasize the fact I have past administrative experience.l? Thank you all again for your help.

Hey folks real quick.. Should I bring a cover letter to an open interview?

I’m going to a job fair for a new supermarket holding on the spot interviews and I’m not sure if I should take a cover letter with my resume or is my attendance enough evidence to show recruiters that I’m interested in the job.

Administrative/HR

I have no idea where to begin for writing a cover letter. I have over 20 years retail experience, but no administrative experience! I've changed careers from retail to administrative/HR and I neef to show them that I've dealt with and have qualities these companies are looking for! I am becoming so so so frustrated because I fit many of the skills these employers are looking for, but not getting anywhere!! HELP PLEASE!!! Thank you!!

Hey Sonia, I suggest doing a Google search for "how to make a cover letter" and "cover letter examples." You can even add a specific job field. This is what I have always done (and still do!) when I need a cover letter. There are lots of helpful websites with what should be included in a cover letter. Hope this helps!
