full time student seeking part time work
Hey, does anyone know of any good part time/ close to full time work in Houston, TX. I spent several years in culinary but recently started school for computer science looking for better pay and better hours. It is getting hard to keep up with the bills in between the GI - bill time frames like summer with just having Uber.

I have been job searching for months. Not even an interview, yet.

Mrs. Schaf, Associates Degree in Computer Science
I am a very hard team worker, looking out for others. I am willing to assist where needed and have no problem cross training. I am able to preform secretarial duties, type 88wpm, 10 key, proof read, compose and distribute correspondence to the correct department/individual. As you can see from my resume I have a very diverse work experience which makes me an asset to any company that offers me a position within their company.

Where to go after the degree?
I am finishing my degree in a few weeks and I have been looking actively since January but I have ran into the issue that all employers want experience. Now I have years of retail and sales experience but I am finishing my degree in computer science so I want to find a job in the IT field. If anyone had suggestions or if they know of an entry level position in the Phoenix please let me know.
Just a little more information about my job search activity: I have applied for approximately 50 jobs a week for close to 5 months and have only gone on 8 in person interviews and 15 over the phone interviews. The biggest issue people seem to have is that I do not have experience.

Employment
I am from Barbados and trying to be gainfully employed in USA preferably Brooklyn Area or the surrounding area , i have already acquired my MSc,Bsc and BA in computer science and management.

Are certificate programs worth it?
A local college offers some certificate programs in business and computer science that I've been looking at but I’m not sure would my job prospects look like with either of these certifications? I’m looking to make a career change from the construction industry to a more technical related occupation.
