Good afternoon. I am looking for a job that is in retail, store clerk or home Aid that is not far from where I live in the Palm Bay Area. It would be much appreciated if you can help me find something in these areas.

Being front office clerk for 21 years in 2 different schools I learned that a good volunteer base was very important to the teachers. Time for duties outside the classroom (copying, bulletin boards, etc) done by volunteers gave teachers a little more time to give to students.

I want to change my career from food service to clerical work. However, I have no work experience in the field I want to go into. My resume on here indicates I’ve always done food service jobs. What should I do?

The only mistake that could happen at Debs, is that leaving the collected money and receipts in a envelope on the counter at closing time. I remember getting home and thinking I forgot to do something, next day a work the boss looked at me and said you forgot to put the envelope with the money and receipts away and I felt really bad about it. Lesson learned to never forget the put away the envelope in the office.

Look forward to busy days and slow days, you will notice that they will be at random. Keep working and keep everything clean even when bored, you would get bored easy cuz of the slow times, its expected cuz of building location. You will get a lot of phone calls asking where you are located cuz there are alot of out of town people calling about it. Show up on time being a little late is frowned on and always be polite to the customers, even when they are mad. Try to resolve the problem right away, you want the customers to come back to the store. Everything you do at this job is easy and simple, you will learn everything you need to know about the job from the get go. The training is easy, you will just be learning the basics. Example counting tills/ collecting tills, making orders on computer and over phone, checking in inventory and putting out the inventory on the racks or shelves.

Recently, got a temp job making 11.00. The hours for first shift wete from 6:30 am to 3:pm. Mon thru Sat full time. I usually do clerical, but since Im on the bus, nothing for clerical work was in my area. The job I got was for factory work, which I have not done over 20 yrs. The first two days were ok. I did a lot of box lifting and moving box crates to stack the boxes. By the third day. I could not get out of my bed, neither could I walk. It felt like a steel metal was stuck in.the lower part of my back. Although I was in alot of pain, I still decided to go to work. But when I tried to lift my feet to get off the bus steps to walk towards the job, a severe pain shot through my back. To make a long story short, never made it to the job site. I immediately turned around andf got on the next bus and headed home. I did contact the temp service to let them know that I would not be returning to the job due to severe back pain. I left a message, but I never heard back from the company. It took me abouty three days, and several hot baths to at least be able to walk again without feeling that severe pain. I still have bills do next month. But I felt my health comes first! Im still looking for work, but I just feel when it comes to health issues, it's better ti be safe then sorry.
