Frustrated but HOPE junkie!

It is so frustrating being unemployed and doing daily Job searches submitting resumes filling out applications going to interviews etc etc. It definitely takes a toll on how you feel about yourself how you feel about your place in this world and just affects you especially when you're used to being a worker bee like I am since I was 12 years old. I was recently part of a layoff after my company promised me a transfer I trained a new manager to take my position was all packed up ready for my transfer and the transfer fell through. Then they tried to appease me by offering me a couple of other transfers that were out-of-state completely out of my demographic and they knew it but they had to do their due diligence. Finally they just reported it as a layoff so that I could collect my unemployment benefits since then I had lost my housing my income my medical benefits my 401k my vacation my job the people that I worked with my residence the community in which I managed and I'm going crazy not working! I am highly skilled, I have Superior customer service skills I have a very high emotional intelligence and I just feel like the positions that I have applied for or I've interviewed at it seems as though they don't want people to qualified because then they have to pay you what you're worth or they're intimidated by your experience and I find this mainly with women who are interviewing other women that they look at you almost as a threat IDK. All I know is when I was in management I was not intimidated by somebody interviewing to be my assistant who had exceptional skills because I wanted somebody with experience that could bring something to the table and it could be part of the team Dynamic to insure all of us were successful because of my people were successful I was successful and it reflected us as a whole not just as an individual not just me as a manager. I find that I am just very frustrated and that a lot of people lead you on and they meet with you and then don't even have enough courtesy to call you and let you know that you weren't accepted for the position or they dragging on for weeks and it's just very frustrating! So all I can say to all of us out there that are going crazy that can only do so much reading and so much cleaning and so many dishes and so many loads of laundry and watch so much TV to just keep hanging in there because I understand how it feels I'm going through it I know a lot of us are but I just hope and pray for a better day and even though I'm frustrated I am hope junkie and there has to be something that's waiting for me. I just have to have faith for myself and for all of us that the right position is going to come along that will suit all of our needs financially emotionally mentally and spiritually so that when we go to work we're happy to go to work and we're getting paid what we're worth and that we're working with individuals that are positive and upbeat so that we can spread that energy amongst each other and two others and just wanted to say that we're all hope Junkies keep on hoping and keep on having the faith because we will all have gainful employment very soon! Just another storm in this world that we live in and there's only one way we can go from here and that is up so stay positive... We are not losers we are important spirits and souls and they knew it but they had to do their do diligence. Career Training and Potential Placement For Jobcasers 16-24 Years Old

There is a program through the US Government called Job Corps that provides free career training for young adults (16-18) from low income families. If you are between 18 and 24, admission is based upon individual income of the applicant. So if you are unemployed and want to learn a valuable skill, this program might be for you!

The program offers training in an amazing variety of career options from culinary arts to IT and Business Administration and many jobs in between.

•Most locations offer a college type experience with participants living in a dormitory on a campus •Job Corps is FREE to qualifying students •Students receive a living expense payment that increases as you progress through the program •They have career counselors and job placement programs to help ensure you land a job in the field for which you trained

I know people who have gone through the culinary arts program and are working in fine dining right now.

It does have rules that you are REQUIRED to follow and they are pretty strict. But if you are mature enough to follow the rules, you could earn valuable skills training and land your dream job.

For more information including instructions on how to apply, visit:

https://www.jobcorps.gov/

Please note, I am not a representative of Job Corps, I just know several people who have benefited from it. It is not a well known program, but it can put you on the path to career success. If you have any questions, please visit the link!
