Apply For Jobs Outside of Your State of Residency

Planning on relocating from NY to NC (raleigh/Charlotte/Durham). Background in accounting with 6 years experience (not a CPA though). I am currently employed but company has no branch in NC. I have been applying for some time now without any luck. Only had a phone interview without a positive outcome. I am paying for all the moving expenses (stated this in resume and cover letter). Is there another approach to increase my chances of landing a position out of state? Thx

Laid off and Lost

So on 2/12/18 I with everyone else in the restaurant found out the place was sold. I started working there March 1995. I went from line cook to inventory supervisor checking the inventory and ordering what was needed. I also filled in behind the line.I worked closely with G.M who only believed in hard copy. No computers we used a ledger to keep track of what was used, delivered and had in the house. So on 2/14/18 after being told everyone's job was secure I was let go. The owner was bringing in his own people to do the inventory. I still seek employment knowing i will never get the same situation. Never worked excel or any other Microsoft program, it was the ledger and an adding machine. Of course all restaurants now has all inventory on p.c. As far as working the line physically I don't know if I can run around like I use to. I was 40 back then I'm 60 now. Pretty sure other places will seek younger and lets say more physical cooks. What to do what to do.
