It’s not a specific qualification but the safety course from OSHA is worth ten hours and a definite good place to start. Being trained in safety is a big thing on a construction site. Knowing how to read a measure a tape, knowing how to cut material by right specs, a good team player, knowledge on tools and power tools might seem a small thing but you be surprised how many people don’t have that basin understanding. Quality is always in the small things.

I would believe a class c CDL, an OSHA card is not required but it would help. I don’t think you really need any qualifications

I have no qualifications. Or certifications I was a general labor by way of a temp agency so I just did grit work and thing last got tight and work dried up so to COVID so due to me now having a car my name went to the bottom of the list since they discouraged car pooling to sites.

It depends on what type of job your looking to get. For instance general laborers dont typically need any qualifications although having certifications such as forklift operating, heavy machinery help out with your pay grade as does already having fall protection, hazmat, an in some job first aid(which in any event is good to have any ways). There are different areas of the construction industry that offer these sort of certifications as well as some that require them an many others including an not limited to, welding, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pipefitting, ect... The list goes on. First thing is to establish what field of construction you plan to enter into, and for what company or organization, do your research on them an what they specialize in doing. That would be your best bet on how to proceed with such an inquiry.

It would be different depending on which field of construction, that you might choose. A flaggers certification is always a good place to start. Then you could actually see the scope of work being performed. And then go on from there,
