You have some great ideas in previous comments. I would add keeping your team aligned around your goals. Either by encouraging their buy-in so they are internally motivated or every so often offering up something fun to help drive them. And keep score, and let the team know where they stand as a group and as individual contributors.

Allow your people to fail. They cannot grow if you have them worried about tomorrow. Share constructive criticism with good intent. Keep in mind that sales is a journey, you are their mentor. Only takeover the presentation or call when they are completely stuck. They may need to feel some of the pressure in order to force them to take the necessary steps not to be in that position in the future. Be willing to help when they ask for it from a learning perspective.

You need to earn your team’s trust through consistency, practicing what you preach, and by listening to what they are saying. When they ask a question, you answer it without talking in circles.

If you expect your employees to do something, you need to be willing to do it yourself. Willing to help when needed and having enough patience to teach.

@Randy Nettle A lot of what goes unseen is a transferring of knowledge. Obviously if you are in that position, you have done something right. Teaching and cultivating your replacement is the key to great sales management.
