Hi there, we're in the same boat! I'm waiting for my work permit still though, it's been more than 90 days and I don't know who to contact to find out what's happening. As for getting into tech, I'm doing exactly the same after a break of 3 years from working in industry in my own country and now also find I won't get work here easily in my field. I've been doing online courses and see all the jobs require more than 2 years exp. Learn as much as you can, try finding a volunteer post for now to gain exp and get busy on adding your own projects in github. Build up as much of a portfolio of projects as you can to show what you can do. It might help offset the lack of exp in tech. Good luck!

I have family going through the same thing you are. If you are a citizen you do not need a work permit. As a pharmacist you do not need to go to school all over again. You need to study just for the board exam and take it when you are ready. Ut is good to work in a pharmacy until you get that done. Rite aid and cvs are usually good with helping out. I would find the closest test center to your location and get the test material refresh your memory before going back.

First of all, congrats on starting your job search in the States! That's super exciting :) Just a quick question - why are you transitioning your career from pharmacy to tech? Knowing your reasoning can help me with your job search. Thanks!
