
What's the key to success in a Supervisor job?

I've always said the hardest part about any supervisors job is dealing with people. In order to do so you sometimes need to humble yourself. Let your team know and understand that you are only human too. Also trust them to do a good job for you and they will trust in you. Treat your team how you would like to be treated. This will go a long way with your team. Hope this helped.

As a Supervisor you are responsible for standard guidelines being met as well as company policies. However, as a team member in a leadership role, those under your supervision need to be trained accordingly. They look to you for guidance. Write ups should never overshadow expertise or proper training. Furthermore, once you have instilled confidence in your team members, they will choose to follow that training or not. Being a supervisor comes with rewards as well as disappointment.

The key to being a good supervisor is consistency. Be consistent with each of your co-workers. Talk to them and not at them. Actively listen and give the respect they deserve. Your co-workers will appreciate you working with them as a team. Always commend good work so they know they are doing their jobs well.

The first thing I learned is that you are a Supervisor and you are not a friend. All of your employees are to be treated equally because there's always going to be the ones who are trying to be the teacher's pet so to say. Make sure all of your employees know exactly what their responsibilities are. If you have some that do not that is not on them, it is on you. Pull those employees to the side and retrained them. After retraining make sure the job is being done correctly. If it is not, that employee just does not want to do that job, and may need to be assigned to something that better fits them. Good luck!

My success came from being honest with my employees. I could tell when something is wrong with an employee. I always ask if I can help.

My key to being a supervisor was to work side by side with my employees, showing them that there is no job too small or too big that we as a team can't accomplish, as well asmaking sure that they were given a task that I would get good results from, opposed to just throwing them on a task that they could not accomplish, people learn on different levels and comprehend differently. Yea I had some that didn't want to work at all, but wanted a Pay check, well to me, you put in what you will get out, if your not trying to do anything than I'm not trying to lose my hours on someone who isn't producing anything.
