I have anxiety, depression, and mild scoliosis. I can work but when I do my back hurts worse. I'm looking for a job right now but I was wondering if I'm eligible for disability?

In Washington I believe it's a mental disorder now , it falls under the Axis 2 DSM . under bipolar , and yes they get assistance . but talk to your family doctor.

What about my scoliosis? Is there a chance I can get disability for back? I can work but my back hurts worse and I have to reapply for Medicaid again to see my doctor about physical therapy again. When my pain starts hurting I get really bad muscle spasms on my left side.

Building a Community for People with Disability

Hi Riqui,

If the anxiety and depression have altered life functions for you, under the Americans with Disabilities Act, you would be considered disabled. If by eligibility for disability you mean for Social Security Disability then your anxiety and depression would need to limit your ability to work and make $1090 per month.

Hope this helps.
