What experience do I need to be hired as a Cashier?
As a cashier who trains people for where I work, we look for people who are friendly, engage with the customer, and have money skills. We also look for people who follow company protocol while engaging with customers and follow what the company asks for is to do. The biggest thing about cashiers are they literally are the one person who customers spend the most time with that work in the store as we are the point of sale for the business. It is the cashier that people will remember the most while shopping in the store.
Be yourself great the customer and count change back and when u are not busy on the counter fux things up help bag with other cashier if they have other lanes enjoy and smile
You need no experience just know how to count money they will teach you how to work the cash register
Presumably, because many commercial hirering partners present cashier work as entry-level employment, proof of eligibility to work in the United States might be all that is required.
You don't need a lot of experience, most you learn on the job. Biggest thing is be good with people, patient, and able to stand on your feet for several hours. Problem solving is a good quality to have as well!
Have to greet people with a smile basic counting and math skills. Extra points if you are bilingual.
The ability to multi task, be kind to the customers, & be able to count out change to make sure there is no mistakes. Having good phone skills & the ability to prioritize your responsibilities is a major plus.
all of my recent past jobs have been a cashier, for this position we look for people who are kind and loud spoken, you can’t be quiet because if your close to the kitchen it’s hard to hear! you also need to have some patience and be able to hold your mouth at times! but overall it’s a fun and easy job n mainly a cycle of repetition!
Customer service and basic math. Following rules and regulations depending upon where you work, and also great personality.
You need to possess a certain level of clairvoyance in order to anticipate consumer needs, kung fu skills to disable perpetrators, levitation spells to expedite the display of up-to-date gasoline and/or diesel prices (if employed at a gas station or truck stop), a vast range of highway awareness and signage fluency, and, obviously, copious amounts of methamphetamines for pulling those daunting yet necessary 96 hour shifts where coffee and energy drinks are useful but inept.
