Kitchen manager is a sous chef in a smaller operation. Just like sous chef, you need to know everything in the kitchen.

I lost my Chef job 2 months ago. I have sent out over 50 resumes with little response. I have had a handful of times where people have rented or emailed me asking about my availability to interview only to respond to them multiple times an get no response from them. I am now concerned about the process and am actually looking for an hourly job as a cook.

Being a kitchen manager is a tough job. You will have to show you are trust worthy to make orders and keep count of your stock. You will also have to know how to cook of course. Show you can lead a team. You really must know your role and your job. Keep the place running efficiently without overstock or under ordering.
