How can I advance my career as a medical assistant?

My job has a tiering process where you can do things and take tests to go from a tier one to tier two and then tier two to three and with each comes a raise. Then medical assistants can become clinical coordinators and then eventually like an office manager. My current office manager started out as a medical assistant.

Most jobs in the medical field require certifications and qualifications. Preferably experience, some employers are willing to train. I would brush on learning the different color code tubes for phlebotomy, get familiar with medical records electronically, medical terminology, injections, each doctor office will have a certain profession for example an eye doctor, a psychologist they would have you performing certain task so become well rounded so you can perform in any environment.
Go back to school to further your education and get an Associate's degree of Applied Science in Medical Assisting this will help you go further up the ladder.
