What experience do I need to be hired as a Forklift Operator?
11 yrs forklift operator,

Lots of warehouse jobs right now. Heavy equipment operators are generally very "safety conscious" type people. Many girls and guys begin operating forklifts without any formal training or experience. You need to let the interviewer know that you understand "loads" and "weight limits" at the different heights and angles as well as discussing the safety protocols for backing and going around corners. If you know what model / type of machines that the company has in their inventory, then look up the specs of each machine and bring that up in conversation with the interviewer. That will impress them.

I have plenty of experience I don't understand what I'm having trouble finding work

Most companies prefer that you already have experience...of course. But every company I've worked for will train and certify you themselves.

Ganas!

Ganas!

Most places offer any/all training for the position

All depends on the company.. I've been an operator for over 20 years and I didn't have any experience... Just hopped on it one day and everything came easy

11 years on a forklift is considered ( Dam Good) I feel like you're insulting my forklift expertise.

It depends on the type of experience you have on the equipment or forklift needed for the job type,( indoor outdoor type operation..
It all depends on the company. Lacosta and Kimberly Clark train you. They mostly use clamp trucks which look a lot like forklifts. They squeeze the material so it can be delivered to the appropriate location.
