Secondly, it's important to be diligent. If someone calls, pick up quickly and take notes/transfer correctly. Don't forget to get call back numbers! Also, be sure to be discreet/confidential with company/personnel information. Of course, you'll always want to do your very best.

You’re the first thing that is representing the company so you always wanna be presentable! As Mr. Coronado mentioned, being polite, having patience, being diligent, and keeping up with phone etiquette are all must have skills! I would add the ability to build productive internal/external working relationships. It’s important to have organizational skills and pay attention to detail! Other than that just knowing your companies policies and procedures to be sure that if and when issues arise, your able to do what you can in a professional manner.
