Chet first what industry are you focusing on? That is where you should concentrate your time and attention to there are many different types of maintenance professions out there l am a industrial millwright mechanic/ machine builder/ welder most of the training for this industry is welding Hydraulics pneumatics Rigging blueprint reading and much more but don’t be intimidated by this once you have begun into the trade you will learn a multitude of skills just take your time and learn as you go Get into an apprenticeship if you can with a company that is willing to pay you while you go to college usually a 4 year program it’ll be worth it in the long run Hope this helps answer your question

My best answer for you would be to contact your state technical training institution. They should have classes that are prudent to learning all the different trades. Direct your focus on electrical troubleshooting and calibration of devices. Take a course on PLC’s but first learn the basics such as relay logic as this will help you understand the logic that you will prepare to troubleshoot automated equipment. I could go on and on but for now, follow this suggestion.

You will need to be certified in hvac installation and maintenance, if there is a swimming pool to maintain you will need training in that also. It really just depends on what properties or property you are caring for and the company you are applying with ,they may have specialized needs that require specific skills. Good Luck

To qualify for a full-time Maintenance Technician job, you may need to complete a technical training program in areas such as HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and general maintenance. You can also consider obtaining certifications like the Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) or Facilities Management Professional (FMP). Jobcase, along with other job search providers like Indeed or LinkedIn, can help you find training programs and job opportunities in your area.
