Follow up calls!!!! Make sure you are ALWAYS doing them. Unfortunately that is the best we can do. Managers have a lot going on and can be slow, but if you keep bringing it to their mind you will stand out and you may even get an interview sooner.
Remember to make the first call 1-2 days after submitting the application. Make another call a week later if you have not heard back to see if you can set up a time to meet the hiring manager.
