Fleet Maintenance Manager at Fed Ex Freight

I served 12.5 years inside Indiana's penal system. Initially I found finding work tough. I found the solution to be apply for every job you think you can do. Not unlike fishing the more hooks in the water the better your chance for a bite. Take any job offered and work faithfully. Show up on time, be rested clean and fresh when you come to work . Once employed it is easier to find a better job. Be wise if you have theft don't set yourself up for failure by being a money handler. Pedophiles should not work around children etc. The key is in jobcase, glass door, zip recruiter, and indeed. Create a resume and apply for all you can everyday. Have,a way to be contacted even if only email at public library computer. Most importantly realize no one owes you anything. That being said listen intently to interviewers and answer using good language avoiding slang and profanity. Mistakes can be overlooked when an applicant can look you in the eye, speak intelligently and shows up ready to work. Good luck!

Electrician at Eleite Image Electrical

You have to see what resources are available in your state. In NY we have programs that help with resume prep, mock interviewing and even job placement based on experience. If you have a parole or probation officer they can give you info on resources. I'm a 3 time convicted felon and on my last one I came out homeless with no real world skills. I used whatever resource I could. Now 8 years later I'm a union electrician 1 year away from making top pay. You have to deal with some shitty situations and ppl. But if you keep positive and stay putting positive energy out into the world good things will start to happen.

Amazon only goes back 7 years and only looks for theft charges so if its not anything like that apply at an FC.

Illinois just dropped the background check until after the interview so no prejudice, also most employers only go back 5 years here. Plus there are tons of companies building warehouses all over that are desperatefor people. Just BE Honest! If yougets an interview I would be happy to tell you what to expect and whatto say

Have you looked in Volunteers of America. They have employees who can help with those with a blemish background, have you tried reaching out to your local work force agency? They should have staff that are intelligent in that area, if your on probation what resources has your PO given you? If your not on probation I would reach out to them for guidance, check to see if your state offers the federal bonding program, (you will need some like the individuals just mentioned to obtain that for you), construction, some state jobs and hospitals hire felons and finally check into paid apprentice ship programs.

Hope that helps and good luck!

@Ruben Gonzalez Hello and welcome to the Jobcase community. Lots of warehouse jobs are felony friendly. I did that for years and I never had a problem getting hired. But try the [Jobcase Jobsearch] toolbar for potential employment opportunities. You can use your desired job title as a keyword to filter out your job search.

I’m also going to recommend that you complete your profile by adding your resume, experience, and education to increase your chances of employment. Completing your profile will also get you job notifications that match your background. Any other questions feel free to reach out. We are here to help.

Contact your local unemployment office and they can either send you to a trade school,or get your free job SpecificExperience that they will have employers that will hire felons. Amazon is 7 yrs unless youapply with one of their 3rd party delivery services. They will base it off the crime and what you have done to make life changes. Grainger warehouses also hire felons, ryder also.
