Are Merchandiser jobs stable right now?

It's depends on what's on the cycle. Around the holidays the merchandisers are not to service stores to do regular cycle work. It will be less work in November and December and back to work after the new year. The say this is a fest or famine job.

If you can join a big company or broker, it'll be fine. However combine Merchandising with sales is much better, although much of these companies, do not pay commissions, but you'll get other benefits and incentives. Incentives aren't much but, something is better than nothing. However you get to know the competition while on the field, and like that, you can move up the ladder if you meet someone that can help you get in.

I have been doing retail merchandising for several years. For field reps, the job has changed. We used to be awarded incentives. Now, we are threatened with a point system, often for situations beyond our control. Companies have been merging; costs are being cut. I work for a company that provides services for multiple clients. Sometimes we are overwhelmed with too many projects; there are times we are barely working. Our company decided to only hire part-time employees from here on out. Other companies specialize in remodels and resets. They may be more consistent. It is a stable job with a good salary, bonuses, and a company car if you go into the job as a territory or regional manager. Managing teams for remodels is also one of the better jobs. Going into the job as a field rep doesn't provide much opportunity for career growth.

They are very stable if you work for a strong, stable company.

Merchandiser jobs can vary in stability depending on the industry and economy. It's always a good idea to regularly check job listings on websites like Indeed, Glassdoor, and Jobcase to see current trends and opportunities in the field. It's also helpful to network with professionals in the industry to gain insights and stay informed about job stability.
