Starting A Business is a fantastic goal for any young person Robert so kudos for your ambition. Here are my suggestions: A - RESEARCH - identify what kind of a gym you're looking to open. There's a multitude of workout trends out there right now so your going to have to identify where there is a need (Boxing, Weights/Cardio, Cross-Fit, etc.). B. BUSINESS PLAN - go to your local library and find books on Business Plan development. C. GET CERTIFIED - look for online or classroom Personal Training Certifications and get certified. There are plenty of certifications to choose rom but make sure you choose one thats recognized, (ACSM, AFAA, ACE). D. START BUILDING YOUR REPUTATION - pick-up a part-time job at a local club and start getting clients and building a reputation for yourself as personal trainer. #Best of Luck!!!

Hey Robert, that's so cool you want to open your own business. It looks like the best way to get started on owning your own gym is to establish your reputation as a personal trainer. You can go into business for yourself on sites like Thumbtack.com, or start with any of these jobs: http://bit.ly/1IYNYAX Let me know if this helps
