What duties would I need to complete as a Sales Associate?

If you do not have any Customer Service background, Home Depot may not be the place for you. You must deal with every level of people that come into the store and help them. Every customer is an opportumity to help someone that has a problem or wants some information. You also need to talk to other associates that have experience and learn from them. Walk the aisles when it's slow and get to know the inventory. The more you know, the more valuable you are as an employee. Hope this helped!

I can only speak for luxury experience: Everyone who comes in no matter that they look like or mood you need to engage with. Do not start a conversation with how are you? Start the conversation with a compliment I love you blouse or you Chanel heels. You come into a luxury store for an experience and you will build relationships going forward. Luxury retail can be a lot of fun as long as you are willing to listen listen engage and have fun and make friendships.

Know the inventory and talk to customer in a friendly way to ensure he/ she leaves smiling

Know the inventory as must as well where the items are going to placed, helping customers find them one week in isle9 is not going be there the next 2 weeks.

It depends on where the job is.. you will probably end up doing a lot of customer service, helping customers with existing accounts, or in some places it may just be standing behind the counter running a cash register

Furniture sales required to sell products and put purchases in the computer ask for product protection etc

Ok it’s a fancy way of saying cashier and be polite! In slow sales times they will probably have you put stock on the shelf, Pretty much it .

Let's face it! Know the inventory. Master the register. Count with speed. Clear the rack. Point customers in the right direction. Dress in confidence.

I would think that is answer is pretty obvious…. You’re duties 90% of the times, as a Sales associate, would be to network with people and Make Sales buddy
Depends on where you’re working but it’s mainly just helping customers and selling products.
