I've been working constantly to try to get into the world of tech or film, they are my favorite things in life and I'm very passionate about them. Of course, the downside is my tech knowledge mainly centers on the PC hardware niche, given I build all kinds of PCs from internet browsing to high end gaming. I've spent the past 4 years trying for jobs with no luck. I've been expounding consistently on my knowledge of Computers and began applying when I felt confident enough in my knowledge. Sadly, each application is returned with something along the lines of I can't be hired without an A+ cert or similar. Sadly I don't have $400 lying around to take the test. So, I switched gears to my next goal. I'm very fluent in film and video production, Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro X, camera equipment and can easily create my own videography films from scratch through post production. Long story short, does anyone happen to know of any jobs in these areas I can ACTUALLY get a position at? Thank you if you read that extensive novel haha #videography #Computerscience
Hi @Stephen Spencer! I can completely understand your frustration. Maybe you could gain more practical experience and bypass some of the educational requirements altogether. You should look into the job @Naomi Shah just posted. It might be the door you need to help you get to where you want to be. Apply if the job speaks to you! Best of luck!
IATSE google stage hands union that will allow you to make connections in the business
Have you tried Studio City and Cineplex Studios? They do all of the production and filming for numerous shows and movies. Worth a try! Both in Chicago. Good luck!

You could try connecting with any company that has digital media departments like entertainment studios, news stations (odd but true they do not always look for experienced you learn on the job) and even colleges that have a radio or news station or communications department
Yes
I do not know of any off the top of my head.
Hi Stephen, I suggest you start making videos and building out your creative reel. If you have 3-5 minutes of footage that shows off your skills, it will help tremendously! Good for you for following your passion.
