Need help with decent work?
I have a 25 year old conviction for bank robbery. I've been out of prison 2 years, driving with valid license and insurance. I've had no trouble and follow the letter of the law because my freedom is important to me. I have a reliable 2017 truck and a top of the line laptop computer. Since being released, after 23 years inside for a crime where no one was hurt, I'm still being refused employment based on the conviction, though I supposedly paid my debt to society and then some. Any suggestions for how I can not be discriminated against for a mistake I made when I was young?

You have options depending on your circumstances. Request to seal your juvenile record if you was a juvenile at the time, request for an expungement, or request for reduction from a felony to misdemeanor. I would recommend you talk to an attorney in your state that specializes in criminal law or call the state bar which can refer you to an attorney which you can consult with that attorney for a very low fee or possibly free(usually 30 min). Also, you can check with your local county law library which may have information to your question you are asking Options : A) criminal attorney in your state B) state bar C) law library in your county (law library website has information on what you may be looking for) D) do nothing and hope the system will change (unlikely)
