I would say Jay wrapped it up, however I would add to her finely detailed response that a picture is worth a thousand words. If you have any examples that can be shown and detailed on a web page that you can share a link to for the hiring manager, this usually is well received. Build a mental image of your abilities and what you have done in the past is a great way to get short listed and build a positive impression on the hiring manager once sitting in the hot seat. Positive attitude and strong preconceptions can give you the edge. Stick to the facts, try not to be nervous and know your the person they need. Presentation will win the day. Good luck :)

Hospice Chaplain Bereavement Coordinator at Westminster Canterbury

In my past experiences as a coordinator,I have learned that each member of a care team is important to the group as a whole and I have learned to recognize and address the needs of each person of the team. Also as a leader, I have made myself available to the supporting staff for their emotional needs. As a coordinator, I have organized bereavement counseling groups asa well as facilitated them with the focus of day to day loving for the bereaved. And with my recent loss of my mother, I'm able to empathize with those whom I council. With my experiences with leadership and organization, I would be a welcomed addition to any team.

Stress on your resume and reiterate at the interview: organization, proactive communication, follow through and attention to detail, applicable technology skills, AND the temperament/personality to interface with ALL co-workers and management.

Surgical Coordinator at Wellspan Orthopedics

Lorraine, You must emphasize your past coordinator experience and responsibilities. My number one duty was to handle the Surgical Trauma Cases for the Orthopedic practitioners. I made sure I was educating myself in regards to each patient so I knew exactly what to request & discuss with the Surgeon. I also specialized in scheduling Total Joint replacements. These are the type of thing's you want to point out when interviewing and on your resume. Good Luck! Must run, I'm in the car! 🚗

Ask and define for yourself what a coordinator does, and how your last experience can be useful as a steppingstone towards what you can offer in this new one. I would also stress your collaboration and how you can be a team-person.
