Is there any "intern" type job that's in computer programming that I can apply to online without having to consent to a damn background check or am I just going to die here in my childhood paid-for home never working again?

Feels like going for computer programming like everyone advises, will be just a waste of time as it seems the companies that hire, do require that damn background check. I mean on all these online job applications even for the "intern" level, I have to 'tick the damn box' either allowing or disallowing a background check but as everyone knows if you tick the box saying "no" you will within seconds get the online reject letter and all your 10 minutes of typing time will have all been wasted. My problem is a high level of education WAY BEFORE the felony conviction. And more education isn't going to put me with the types. of companies that don't check background. As a Stroke survivor, I can't drive or do heavy lifting, that rules out pretty much EVERYTHING that I know either hires felons or just doesn't check, period. What else is there, lay down and die?

And unlike at the turn of the century in that "dot-boom," when I did most of my better "computer" work, the temp agencies nowadays that I can GET to, aren't giving me the time of day. In the good ol' days I used to be able to go in to a temp agency's office, do brilliant on their computer tests and then get PLACED somewhere just like that. (In downtown San Francisco, that is.) On 'database management' e-commerce "teams" sort of thing. I guess there's no more of that these days, then. Or it'll take longer than the past 3 years' worth of applying and applying until my fingers get tired....

'Ya know, at this point I would even take remote "help desk technician" type jobs, for God's sake.

I find that "fully remote" computer programming-level type jobs that are headquartered in or based in other countries, refuse to hire anyone who is in the US. As they say 'US persons'. Same goes for trying to open a bank account remotely, by the way, because of my problems with Social Security f***ing up my record and my number.

I really don't think that with 21st-century-level technology, this is "too much to ask" but the answer may very well be to stop expecting to find it online, which of course defeats the purpose of that it needs to be "fully remote."

Oh and it needs to be fully-remote, too, since I can't GO anywhere. Or move anywhere since I'd literally have nowhere to stay if I left this house ever again.
