The duties of a security officer vary greatly depending on assigned area. Duties may range from foot patrol interior/exterior, vehicle patrol, entrance/exit/crowd control, asset protection, electronic surveillance, emergency response, etc. that’s just to name a few possibilities. A good security officer is dependable, flexible and willing to except responsibility…

Hi Frank, as a security officer the best skill that you can use is a keen sense of observation. The basic role of an officer is to patrol, observe, and the ability to report what you see; whether verbally and/or in writing. What? When? How? Where? Who? These are the questions that you should be able to answer clearly and effectively.

I hope that this is helpful to you. Good fortune with your search.
