How do I use my past experiences as a CDL Truck Driver to land a job as a CDL Truck Driver?

Very simple. Put who you worked for and the hire date as well as the end date. Problem solved.

I have worked in transportation for over 15 years. As a dispatcher and a driver. The trucking industry is always in need of CDL drivers. If you have a CDL, you have choices. Look around and research the company. I guarantee you will find a place to land that makes you happy.

Put all your past experience in your resume and remember they go off the date you received CDL. Any experience before that date doesn't count. That's what I've been told. I got over 20 years experience driving but the insurance companies and companies that self insure don't look at that past experience.

Apply for the same place over and over and hope that you get it everything’s online so you can’t get jobs quickly

Just list your CDL jobs experiences in numerical order and list your responsibilities on that particular job and explain your duties. You should not have any problems with at least getting an in person interview and once you're sitting there sitting in front of the prospective employer, sell yourself and your experiences . GOOD LUCK

Conform your resume around your truck driving experience.

No screw ups. Just off the road since 2023. Started driving in 1988. Owner operater for years. Just trying to get back on the road.

Include things like flatbed trained ,or knowing how to load and unload a piggy back forklift, areas of the country you are familiar with as pertaining to driving ,include the ability to drive a 10,13,15,18 speed truck can be important also

Put all your certifications, skills along with prior jobs or just list picificaly your cdl and truck driving prior jobs and skills
This usually depends on how much time you have in the truck on the road and the cargo that you have. There are a lot of cowboys out there who have screwed up loads and can’t get hired because of money lost because loads are refused. I don’t know how much experience you have but that plays a big part. Try FedX , Walmart, Amazon Bell&Evans and (since I don’t know where you live)any companies in your town as well as companies in your state. Good luck my friend and keep on trucking
