Do you think it's OK to ask about the status of the job applied for or will this diminish your chances of getting the job? #followup

It won't hurt to casually follow up on an application but realize pushing an agenda won't get you in the door. When companies have a need they staff for it asap.

As a former hiring manager, I considered it a plus if someone followed up. In fact, if I was considering them and on the fence between them and another candidate, I would choose the person who followed up.

It is absolutely okay to ask about the status of the job after an interview. It shows your interest and enthusiasm for the role. It won't diminish your chances of getting the job. Feel free to reach out and ask about next steps. #followup Jobcase and other job search providers can also provide you with tips on how to approach this conversation professionally. Stay positive and good luck!
