My tips for getting customers to open up
I’ve worked at Macy’s for over a year now and I’ve learned a few things… always approach them with a smile, and never when they have anything but a piece of merchandise in their hands. If they’re on the phone, or looking at a tablet,or something else, leave them alone til they are looking at a shirt or something. Then, ask a ton of questions and smile and nod to all their answers. If you’re checking them out, mention the credit card to save them 20-25% but don’t push it. I always remark that it’s a good deal since I shop here all the time, but if someone doesn’t then maybe not great. People appreciate the honesty and I usually sign up about 4 people a day. Hope it helps and good luck to all new employees!

Had an interview and got it
Had an interview earlier today at Macy’s.. Ended up being really cool and I was hired on the spot! I spoke to one of the managers and asked about my previous work and experiences and while I didn’t have a lot I was able to use volunteer experience as an example and she loved it so it went well. Very happy and can’t wait to get started in two weeks and start making money again! If you’re still looking don’t give up and put your best foot forward your time will come!

Hello Macy's Workers!
I'm a new recruit on this website. There is a Macy's in my little cowboy town of Redding, CA. I only see government workers, or high income men in the store here.
I have considered applying, but wonder how the work is for entry level employees. What positions do they usually fill?
Have a great Retail 2019 year!

Made me feel good
When I worked at the jewelry counter at Macy's I had a father come in and was buying his daughter her first pair of "grown-up" earrings. They told me that she lost her mom very young so it was a special moment. I was glad to help them pick out something that was just right for her. Made me feel good. You gotta look for the wins in your job and focus on the positives.

Sales associate or receiving
I would like a position at the Macy’s in the stonecrest mall I am willing to try any position either in the store as a sales Associate I have previous experience in it and in the warehouse where I have been in receiving dept where I took in the merchandise off trucks and processed it and got it ready to go on the sales floor

They threw me a man shower
I had a great experience at Macy's because of the people I worked with. A few months into my job I found out my wife and I were pregnant. 8 months later they all got together and threw a man shower for me during our lunch. Yup it's a thing. I was lucky to be apart of that team. I still miss them! When you are looking at jobs find GREAT people to work with, it's so important.

She gets SCREAMED at!
My baby sister works for Macy's and likes the company a lot but she has had some issues with one of her managers. She constantly screams at her. It's pretty embarrassing. I gave her some advice, but it doesn't seem to be working. I told her to sit down with the woman and have a heart to heart. She is nervous she will get fired. Anyone know how I can help my sister??

A happy customer at the Macy's in Laredo Texas
Getting a facial at the philosophy counter at the Macy's in Laredo Texas at the Del Norte Mall!!!!

What I liked best at Macy's
I have to say I liked the people the best, but also that I learned a lot about how to organize things and give great customer service from my manager, Terry. She was awesome!!! Most patient woman ever. If I made a mistake and felt embarrassed she just looked me in the eyes and said it was ok and to keep going. So to everyone out there....it's OK, keep going!
