I came across a great story about an ex-con who was having trouble finding work after his release from prison. He was not getting calls back after disclosing his criminal history, and decided to start his own business based on the fitness regiment he developed while in prison.

Most interestingly, the founder makes an effort to hire other former inmates for his company. Founding a business may not be right for everyone, but it's good to know that there are people out there who will relate to your situation and are willing to help give others a fresh start.

Here's an article about the founder and company: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/10/nyregion/at-a-gym-in-manhattan-fitness-tips-from-ex-convicts.html

Im looking for a job , fast food , home health care , it doesnt really matter.. i just need help finding a job because i am a convicted felon but it was 5 years ago. I have 2 children and 1 on the way. Im really in need of a job , ive worked fast food, ive managed a store before , ive even done home health care. Ive done all of these jobs being a convicted felon but here lately its been really tough to find some work. I stay in Fredericksburg VA so if anyone knows of any places that do hire felons around here , PLEASE HELP ! Thank you all , and I wish us all the best !!! We are HUMAN and we make MISTAKES that we have to pay for , we shouldnt have to do it over and over again.. If its not a job its housing and so much more that we get stopped from. Its not fair at all ! Good Luck Everyone!!

So its bad enough that times are tough for all job hunters, but when your an ex-felon here in Geotgia your treated like trash a second citizen who doesn't deserve a place to live or a job to help support his family. I'm thinking of moving once I get a job and save up enough and I here that Oregon is suppose to be a better place especially if you like me had a sex offense in your past, and are trying to move on and start over. So I was wondering is there any other place out there where the job hunting is easier on us ex-felons? cause I'm willng to move.

I have a felony conviction from 1/2016. Where can I apply at I have 2 kids 3 and 6 and it seems like I cannot pass a background check. I have a very strong customer service background and just need to be able to get my foot in the door somewhere in the Cleveland, Ohio area

Hi there I'm a mother of four children who desperately needs help. I worked as a medical assistant in CA but been unemployed for almost 9 years. On 2012 or 2013 I was charge with felony on my record. I have completed my all my courts requirements and fees and I'm doing good and just waiting too get off probation in July of 2017. The hardest struggle is getting job to support my family and it's hardship because I'm loosing my home. Any advice or guidance
